Next Ukrainian presidential election

[edit]

In your revert [1] you have put back 2 candidates out of 3. These days, Zelenskyy and Zaluzhnyi get most of the support [2] and their inclusion to the list was supported by the same reference, whereas you have only put back Zelenskyy (41.5%) and Arestovych (0.8%). Why is the logic of such a partial revert? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:2378:11DD:D7F4:A8D4:EE37:5482:25A0 (talk) 21:45, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Because unlike Zelensky and Arestovych, Zaluzhnyi has never expressed any political statement or even a hint of him becoming a politician and running for the president, so having him as a potential candidate little to no sense, even if media is trying to speculate on it. Lastjourneyman. (talk) 21:54, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Zaluzhnyi, I agree, has not expressed or hinted a desire for a political office, and being in the military he cannot, but, most importantly, reliable sources say that he is a potential candidate. Zelensky, as far as I know, has not made an unconditional statement that he will be running for his second term. Per the electoral survey, they both have a sizeable potential support for the president's post. Hence, they both were listed in the subsection "potential candidates". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:2378:103B:59BD:E11B:5A70:144:21EE (talk) 01:23, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Blind reverts

[edit]

This is an appalling edit. You are blindly undoing a huge range of fixes with a utterly banal rationale. You mention the WP:5% rule but you were not adhering it to it anyway as you had excluded a candidate with 6% of the vote. You could have easily fixed the diagram background, and the turnout in the infobox was clearly wrong as it didn't match the results table.

Even if these were errors, they were relatively minor and could have been fixed individually. Instead, you undid whole lot, leaving the article uncategorised, the infobox a mess (and inconsistent with the article). Please be more careful in future about hitting the undo button. Number 57 00:31, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

5% rule was mentioned as a precedent to revert your change, as it made no sense to delete the third candidate, and I guess the point with 4th candidate with 6% also makes.
Turnout on infobox is official, and the results table is rather inconsistent due to the lack of proper information from the Ukrainian electoral commission, so I still would prefer to bring the decrease number back.
The categories were also added in the next edit, as soon as I undid your changes. Lastjourneyman. (talk) 00:47, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can't put a different turnout in the infobox as there is in the results table. However, I noticed that the source used (this) does not seem to contain the invalid votes or electorate for the City Council, nor the mayoral results. Where have those figures come from? If they have been input wrongly, they may be causing an incorrect turnout to appear in the results table. Number 57 00:51, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The result comes from this source, that cites local electoral commission. CECU doesn't provide any official turnout numbers, which is why it caused the mayhem in results table, as I had to count it manually. Lastjourneyman. (talk) 00:54, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I mean the mayoral results table – the source cited does not contain the results. It is the same one used for the City Council election, which has the votes and seats for each party, but not the invalid votes or electorate. Where are these from?
I noticed the Suspilne source is from the day of the election, so it is possible turnout would have been revised when the final results were published (it mentions 323,152 votes being cast, but this is slightly lower than the figure in the mayoral results table (323,218)). Number 57 00:56, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly, as I've mentioned before, Central Electoral Commission doesn't provde such results, mayoral election has almost no information, except this one, which I believe I forgot to put there, so my bad. Lastjourneyman. (talk) 01:05, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I found several news sources with these figures and also confirming the 6,180 invalid votes (e.g. this), so the total votes cast (323,218) appears to be correct. Where did the registered voters figure come from? Number 57 01:11, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I've mentioned, there's no explicit number, it was manually counted by me from the numbers on all 7 (No.1, No.2, No.3, No.4, No.5, No.6, No.7) district electoral commissions in Kharkiv, but they may not correlate with mayoral election, as those are numbers from city council election, and there are separate ballots for elections, so I understand that. Lastjourneyman. (talk) 11:24, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Please make sure you use the correct sources on results tables, as there is a risk using a source that doesn't contain the numbers can make it look like you have made them up (which sadly does happen). Cheers, Number 57 19:43, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
