AIV
Hi. I removed your recent report at AIV, because the user did not appear to have edited since their final warning. Cheers TigerShark (talk) 23:11, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm... perhaps tell User:Gurch about that? I was using huggle. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 00:04, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Tor exits
Hi Calvin 1998. Regarding [1]. See [2] - look at port 80 (or in the absence of port 80, the wildcard *). Add the following two lines to your Tor config file:
- StrictExitNodes 1
- ExitNodes $010673ac718647864e9ff64a08376027be3d1a4a
Then fire up tor and edit Wikipedia. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:24, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I don't have TOR. However, you will see that the "Router Flags" section shows it's not flagged as an exit node, therefore it's useless to have it blocked, which was my point in saying {{notaproxy}}. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 16:39, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- My point is that this node is open as an exit and capable of editing Wikipedia. Let me know if I can help further. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:43, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, my point is that the Kewlio.net TOR checker says it's definitely a TOR node but not an exit node, same with the link you provided me above. Are you sure that the exit IP is the same one as this one? Calvin 1998 (t-c) 16:46, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- [3] -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:50, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Alright. I suppose that's good enough proof for me. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 16:51, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- I am not really here to prove that this is an exit node, but to show how to check properly. This is especially important when the result appears to be negative - a negative result should mean that you have exhausted every possibility of the IP acting as an open proxy. I hope you will find the instructions above useful. -- zzuuzz (talk) 16:58, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

- Hi again Calvin 1998. These are quite rare, so I thought you might be interested to see 216.243.185.124 (talk · contribs · block log), which is definitely a current tor exit node. -- zzuuzz (talk) 10:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Hows your VP?
Hi, I saw that you had a problem similar to other uses when you tried to use VandalProof back in March you said your IP address comes up when you try to log on. Have you fixed this? Does it work now? Because i am having the exact same problem, i was approved just a day ago, did the problem go away by itself or it still doesn't work for you? Can you help me out? On a side note which tool do you think is the best for vandalism, what have you found to be the best? Thanks Roadrunnerz45 (talk) 04:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hm.. the problem seems to be solved for me. As for my opinion on the various anti-vandalism tools, I prefer huggle, as it's interface is significantly better than VP, and has more features. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 04:47, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, VP uses the IE engine, so script errors bring up an error message, and must be run with Administrator permissions in Vista. Huggle doesn't have any such problem, can use the faster IRC recent changes feed, rollback, has optional AIV report extending, can edit pages within the application, etc. etc. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 04:51, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I disagree
So, judging by your edits to Gunn's article, you're going to be going to Paly, huh? ;)
In all seriousness, though, I restored some of the un-encyclopedic, but not-necessarily unusable information (and links) that you removed, in accordance with the spirit of "Preserve Information".
Wikimancer (talk) 03:27, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Doesn't it say on my userpage that I'm going to Gunn? I removed some of the "alumni" because it was rather dubious whether or not they actually went to Gunn or not. And I tend to go by WP:NOTABILITY instead of Preserve Information. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 03:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, it seems I deleted the bit in my bio section that said I'm going to Gunn. Whatever... Calvin 1998 (t-c) 03:50, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

C is for Cookie
I think my edits to the C is for Cookie page were very constructive. The actual lyrics aren't included, and I wanted to be able to sing the song in my head. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.106.52.17 (talk) 00:45, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Revert
Hi, could I just double-check the reason for this revert? Thanks Gurch (talk) 02:23, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- That was a slip of the hand (keyboard shortcuts):P. I usually apologize for those, apparently I forgot. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 02:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Hoodoo & Voodoo
Please forgive me for bringing this away from the talk page. I am confused and do not want to complicate the talk page any further.
Can you tell me where you changed Voodoo to Hoodoo?
Also, while I am here, I'll ask - Would I be out of order to remove all the brand names of fishing lures from the fishing in Ohio article? (That is, Rooster Tails, Mepps, and Berkley Power Bait.)
THanks, Wanderer57 (talk) 05:22, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I changed Voodoo to Hoodoo in the original question, sorry for not clarifying that. And for the second question, it depends whether the brand names are actually necessary in the article or just there for advertising purposes. For the former, keep them, for the latter, remove them. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 05:43, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks Calvin 1998, Vector Potential and Kesh for getting back, I'm running on "commercial free" Internet Explorer 5; any fixes?!, I probably need to update my browser but for the eternal Mac OS 9.2 there isn't much available, if any body knows what would be best please let me know . Kind regards, Moebiusuibeom-en alias 64.237.165.247 (talk) 17:25, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
