Notability of Terry Osman
[edit]A tag has been placed on Terry Osman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Apparition11 (talk) 00:01, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Larry, I first thought to just delete your article on Compassionart, but at least you included a link to the website. I want you to look at some of the links below, and see what you can do to improve your article, and bring it up to minimum wikipedia standards, if you really think it should survive. Good luck Unschool (talk) 03:47, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Compassionart
[edit]I think that we had an edit conflict on this, while I was cleaning up and despamming, and I may have inadvertently overwritten your recent edit. Can you please check? jimfbleak (talk) 06:57, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. The website does not say that the images are public domain or GFDL licensed, so their use on Wikipedia is a copyright violation of the website.
- If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article's talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at the talk page with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article talk page.
- Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at the article talk page with a link to the web page details.
- Effectively, you have to release the images as GFDL or PD, and prove that you have the right to do so jimfbleak (talk) 07:18, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, if the images are self-made, and aren't on the website, you just have to licence them as PD or GFDL-self when you upload jimfbleak (talk) 09:12, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of CompassionArt
[edit]I have nominated CompassionArt, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/CompassionArt. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
