Hello Lambertman/Archive01 and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

Thanks for the addition to Cheers! Any idea which episode it was that featured this numerology? Staxringold 18:49, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it was Season 8's "The Stork Brings a Crane." I had to look up the title. :) Lambertman 20:45, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your edits on this page. It's more concise and is less biased than before. I just wanted to make one suggestion. Please don't mark something as a minor edit, unless it's as simple as changing puctuation or spelling. Sometimes people who watch a particular page will not bother to check on an edit marked this way. Thanks. --djrobgordon 20:53, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, so I've been doing that wrong the whole time I've been here. Thanks for the knowledge Lambertman 19:04, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Careful!!

[edit]

Greetings. Be careful with the vandalism reversion! I assume this edit was a mistake! I was on autopilot, and used the roll-back tool before I realised what I'd seen! Easily done, I'm sure. Best wishes, RobertGtalk 18:28, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops. Sorry, was in a hurry. Wont happen again Lambertman 19:04, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Infiltration

[edit]

What, you've infiltrated this corner of the Internet too? (gasping in mock horror) Amnewsboy 19:19, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

) How could I resist a place to be a know-it-all? Lambertman 21:05, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Supermarket Sweep

[edit]

You mind taking a look at Supermarket Sweep? Geauga TV? Amnewsboy 10:46, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for taking off the "Geauga TV" bit... I knew that sounded fishy. What about the "Breakfast Break" listed in the bonus section? I don't seem to recall the second partner ever getting to go out into the market, or Ruprecht calling out products other than the Manager's Special over the loudspeaker. -- Goldrushcavi 23:08, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't remember those either, but I can't be 100% sure it's incorrect, so I'll let it stand. They *seem* plausible. There were other instances where the seocnd partner woul drun into the market during the Big Sweep, but I can't recall what for. Lambertman 02:17, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for further instruction

[edit]

HI, I see you've added the {{helpme}} tag. Can I help you with something?

Yes, please. I'm having an issue with User talk:Juan833blue regarding the page for the TV series Sale of the Century. He keeps editing it (previously anonymously, but the writing has been exactly the same) to add info about the US version despite the existence of Sale of the Century (US), and either will not or cannot read the messages I've left in the editing history or on his talk page. I did not want to get banned under 3RR, but I would very much like to convince him to stop readding info that does not belong there. Lambertman 17:50, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm hesitant to revert the addition, because it is a natural edit. The situation is really weird - with the Australian version taking up most of the article and the US version dealt with separately. I think a new solution is required, maybe like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. You have only had two reverts, and you are allowed 4 under the 3RR. If you do revert, incorporate any info you can into the US version.--Commander Keane 18:11, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then. One final question: how do I undo a redirect page? I' dlike to go ahead and split off Temptation (television), as others have suggested, while I'm at it. Lambertman 18:59, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You just visit the redirect (this link will take you there) and edit it as a normal article.--Commander Keane 05:30, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. Someone beat me to it this time, but it will def. come in handy in the future. Lambertman 14:12, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templatage

[edit]

Hey, L!... I'm having issues with a template, but not sure who to take the issue up with. (Basically, in the "Jonesboro TV" template, somebody's added all the out of town channels available there from LR and Memphis, when really, there are only 2 stations that actually broadcast from there.) Should I change the thing on my own or do I really need to find somebody to confer with? Amnewsboy 08:29, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not seeing anyone to report to on that front, so I'd say go ahead and edit Template:Jonesboro_TV and leave a message on the Talkpage, just so they know you mean business. Lambertman 14:45, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Rock on, L!. Thanks. Amnewsboy 01:44, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

General Gabbery

[edit]

I couldn't resist after seeing the history on her page. Amnewsboy 08:47, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

her presence would have actually made that show *better*, I think! Lambertman 13:08, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, no, look at your user page, silly. Amnewsboy 13:53, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
smartass. I should report you for vandalism. :) Lambertman 14:38, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Uncontrollable hilarity." Sounds like her show. Amnewsboy 15:22, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I Got It!!!

[edit]

You have anything to add here that I didn't already get? Amnewsboy 14:13, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks pretty good. i remember Mark Jeffries saying something about his being involved heavily with Joanie Summers' hit "Johnny Get Angry", but I don't remember the details and can't find them on google. So... never mind. :) Lambertman 22:23, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2006-07 United States network television schedule

[edit]

Hi Lambertman, I've reverted your recent edit on 2006-07 United States network television schedule. You indicated in the edit summary that you didn't think your edit would stay ("I don't think I'll win this argument, but...") If you thought the edit was controversial enought to cause an argument, as you clearly did, you should have taken it to the talk page. Please consider doing so next time. Thanks.--Firsfron 15:50, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TPIR broadcast history

[edit]

Chris, assuming you still have the schedule from the Really Big Text Document somewhere, could you take a look at this and see if it looks right? Our buddy BenH added it tonight, and I fixed it up a little, but I don't really know how much of it is accurate between 1975 and 1979. Thanks. -TPIRFanSteve 07:38, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As much as it pains me to say it, it looks even *more* accurate than what my source gave me for the old site some 13 years ago. I don't doubt Ben's ability to look things up. It's his attempts to write legible sentences that I have a problem with. :) Lambertman 11:51, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CoolKatt number 99999

[edit]

I invite you to post your opinions about him here --CFIF (talk to me) 19:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should blow up the current RfC against CoolKatt and start up a new one, because it seems the current one will not result in some kind of resolution (unlike the BenH RfC). CoolKatt is again labelling my edits as vandalism (specifically on WKBS and WGTW) and something really needs to be done. This time, I would like to be the one starting up the RfC. I may even attempt to use mediation as well.
Here's one more gem from CK, from WKBS and WGTW: "!-- Do not remove the merge tag. Doing so is considerd vandalism. --" So, I guess that means anyone who removes HIS mandatory merge tags (or his worthless "trivia") is committing vandalism? You make the call. Rollosmokes 14:49, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Don't listen to Rollosmokes. He himself is a problem user. CoolKatt number 99999 01:31, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've already made up my mind about you, C.K. Lambertman 01:41, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He don't learn very well, do he?[1] Amnewsboy 04:15, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Arbitration

[edit]

After noticing that CK filed an investigation against me without my knowledge on July 1, I have decided to move forward with a Request for Arbitration. He now has an RfC, an investigation against himself, and now this to deal with. I have listed you, along with Kramden4700, CFIF, and Crossmr as the main complaintants (sp?). At your earliest convenience, please contribute. Rollosmokes 18:45, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, L! -- I had mentioned it to Rollosmokes, and I don't know how involved in the RfA against him you are, but a RfI was decided on about him today [2] and he was subsequently warned. (I don't know if you also saw his explanation as to why AETN didn't have meanings to their call letters, either.[3])

DuMont Television Network

[edit]

Hey Lambertman, Thanks for your recent edit to the DuMont page. Like you, I think a good intro is needed. However, I did revert your edit. As discussed on the DuMont talk page, and in the article itself, DuMont's broadcasting history actually preceded CBS's and ABC's (CBS was hoping for their color system to be approved by the FCC, and ABC couldn't scrounge together a network until 1948, and even then they used DuMont's New York facilities), so chronologically, it wasn't the "third network". In the ratings, an argument could be made that it was third (the 1949 season has one DuMont show in the top 10, according to Variety ratings of the time), from 1948 until the early 1950s, but I really think calling it the "third network" needs better sourcing: It was certainly ahead of ABC until 1953, but it was also ahead of CBS until 1948, meaning that more than half of the time DuMont existed (Jan 1946-1948 and February 1953-August 1956), it wasn't the third network in ratings, either. I'd love to see a really great intro for the article. Maybe you'll want to give it another go? Happy editing! :) --Firsfron of Ronchester 21:35, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Supermarket Sweep

[edit]

You won't get a situation? Is Supermarket Sweep unsure airing on GSN Fiction or Non-Fiction?

That [4] certainly helped your credibility. And why did you blank your usertalk page, GSNGuy? Lambertman 02:59, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind looking at that for me? I am on solid ground here, right? Amnewsboy 08:56, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I'm concerned. "Cheer Awaits You"?? Good gravy Marie. Lambertman 11:16, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Chris

[edit]

Thanks for adding that comment on my Userpage. I'm trying to make peace with Buckner, but the whole thing is still really infuriating. -TPIRFanSteve 00:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been looking for ways to help as I can, but it seems like in Wikipedia, anything anyone says can be used against you and noone's in any hurry to look into charges that are needlessly flailed about because someone got their feelings hurt. I'm assuming I'll be labeled your puppet very shortly, even though I've been here a year longer than you. Lambertman 00:20, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CoolKatt number 99999 at it again!

[edit]

CoolKatt's latest needless merger idea seems to be TVX Broadcast Group and Paramount Stations Group. It seems almost as if he is writing some sort of fictonal alternate broadcast history. Kramden4700 14:59, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mutual Admiration? Nah...

RFA

[edit]

I saw you withdrew, probably the best bet in the circunstances but it must be disheartening. Although there were no real negative votes just some neutral opinions which is better than some people get!

Anyway hard luck this time and best of luck in the future: I'll look out for your next RFA in the future! --Errant Tmorton166(T)(Review me) 11:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Same here. I hope you'll consider re-applying in the future.--Firsfron of Ronchester 20:23, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your Request for Advice

[edit]

I realize that it must be dissapointing to have a recently failed RfA. I just wanted to stop by and encourage you to keep going with what you are doing. Being an admin is not the be all and end all of Wikipedia. Anyone is welcome to contribute, regardless of their sysop privileges. That being said, if you would like to become a sysop, I would suggest getting more WP space edits. WP space edits show knowledge of policy to those reading your RfA. A great place to start is WP:AFD. Anyway, good luck. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Alphachimp talk 16:40, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: WNDY

[edit]

I may have been mistaken, if that is the case, feel free to revert my edits. Many thanks. :) --WinHunter (talk) 01:24, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Errmmm.... CK's edit is actually better here. Now, excuse me while I go kill myself. Lambertman 22:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I respectfully disagree, L!... I see a lot of speculative thinkin' in there. Don't kill yourself just yet. :) Amnewsboy 00:03, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll re-read for contents instead of merely tightness. :) Lambertman 00:18, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that will not happen again. Lambertman 02:33, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's all right. Knowing that I saved a life is its own reward. ;-) Amnewsboy 04:19, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship

[edit]

Hey Lambertman,

Per your message at the top of this page about your RfA and ways to improve, have you considered Admin Coaching? I have found it's really helpful... I hope you'll consider it, and I hope you do decide to run again, when you feel ready. Happy editing, --Firsfron of Ronchester 01:31, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hoo boy...

[edit]

Do I dare bring it up with TPTB?[5] (sigh) Amnewsboy 02:47, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/CoolKatt_number_99999. Please add evidence to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/CoolKatt_number_99999/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/CoolKatt_number_99999/Workshop.

You mean you weren't put here to give all your friends concise reviews of the latest diet beverage offerings? I miss the pictures, though.

GSN's Horribly Ridiculous and Out of Touch 50 Greatest Game Shows

[edit]

Mind taking a look at User:Amnewsboy/GSN50? I haven't Wikified all the air dates and whatnot, but I think it all would look better as a table (as opposed to how it is now). Thoughts? Amnewsboy 14:22, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hollywood squares trivia

[edit]

Actually Peter Marshall was a guest panelist on the 1970s version of Match Game, while Bruce Vilanch was a panelish on the Gameshow Marathon version. Jimmie Walker was a panelist on Match Game as well as Hollywood Squares. (Rnazar 20:13, 6 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Actually, in one episode of the Match Game 1970s, Gene Rayburn and Peter Marshall switched places for a few minutes (A clip can be found on Youtube). And for proof on Bruce Vilanch go to Gameshow Marathon. (--Rnazar 13:42, 7 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

You are exactly right. Exactly who else had appeared on both shows?--Rnazar 22:50, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deal or No Deal

[edit]

The articles need proper introductions. They presume everyone knows what "Deal or No Deal" is, which is what an encyclopaedia shouldn't do. That's why I didn't tag them all, as some have sufficient introductions. They should begin with "..... is the .... language version of Deal or No Deal, a popular quiz show...." and so on. Feel free to message back if you have any other queries. LuciferMorgan 14:20, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's correct, it would be redundant. I tagged a few foreign language versions of the gameshow also, so I thought you may be referring to them and that's why I gave the above example. Of course it wouldn't apply to the US version. Just say where the US version was adapted from and so on, and make sure it mentions the article is about the US version, not UK. LuciferMorgan 14:51, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This case is now closed and the result has been published at the link above.

Firsfron,

If you get a moment, User:MrT99 has placed a phony block on User:TPIRFanSteve's talk page. Knowing Steve, he's not going to fall for this, but it's still not the most pleasing thing a wikieditor can do. Lambertman 14:28, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Further update: T99's inseted two F-bombs into a message Steve left on T's talkpage. I think we can now assume bad faith. Lambertman 18:43, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the message, Lambertman. I've blocked him for 24 hours, for now. If he keeps it up, he will have a very short history on Wikipedia. I'll be monitoring the situation closely, but please let me know if you see anything else pop up. Best, Firsfron of Ronchester 18:59, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
