Katherine Faber edits

[edit]

Dear LakeForgetful,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request an edit to the Wikipedia page for Katherine Faber, in accordance with Wikipedia's guidelines on "Too Much Detail" and "Personal Security Practices."

I have identified specific content within the entry that warrants reconsideration. This includes:

  1. Details of Personal Donations: The article currently details specific donations made by Katherine Faber to various initiatives. These details are not only excessive but also potentially infringe upon her personal security and privacy. I believe that removing these specifics would align better with Wikipedia's standards for privacy.
  2. Inaccuracies in Professional Information: The entry contains incorrect information regarding Katherine Faber's scientific specialties. This misinformation could mislead readers and detracts from the accuracy and reliability of the article.

As I am not directly involved in the subject matter, I am following the protocol for "Edit Requests" as outlined in Wikipedia guidelines. I believe these changes are crucial for maintaining the integrity and privacy standards of the Wikipedia platform.

For your reference, the following sections contain the mentioned details:

Introduction: Faber is not a continuum mechanician. She is also no longer co-director of the Northwestern University/Art Institute of Chicago Center for Scientific Studies in the Arts.

Personal Life: "Apart from her research, Faber is a patron of the arts and is especially drawn to theater and art museums.

Faber and Rosenbaum have established several graduate fellowships and research funding opportunities for students. In 2014, she and Rosenbaum initiated a $100,000 graduate research fellowship at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, which provides summer research support to students with the aim of increasing representation of women in STEM fields. Together, they created the Guy Rindone Graduate Research Fund (named after Faber's master’s thesis adviser) to help facilitate the choice of a research topic in the student's graduate education. In 2017, she and her husband became the first to contribute to the Gordon and Betty Moore Graduate Fellowship Match at Caltech, and later initiated the Rosenbaum-Faber Family Graduate Fellowship, which aims to provide graduate students with the freedom to pursue their studies and possibly change their research based on unexpected research results."

I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your response. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or clarification.

Thank you for your time and dedication to maintaining the quality and reliability of Wikipedia.

Sincerely,

Zachary Ahmad Zachary.c.ahmad (talk) 17:17, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Zachary.c.ahmad,
I see your point. The sections that violate WP:PSP aren't even relevant for pages on scientists. Concurred. I can approve and go ahead with the edits, but should the information be altered or simply removed? This is assuming you have some knowledge on the subject - I can check with the other page editors if not. LakeForgetful (talk) 17:24, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Joseph Falson

[edit]

Hello, LakeForgetful,

Thank you for creating Joseph Falson.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

In general Asst Profs do not meet the notability criteria. His h-factors is too low, and he has no major awards.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Ldm1954}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Joseph Falson moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Joseph Falson. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and he does not meet the criteria. I am moving to a draft rather than nominating for deletion. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Ldm1954 (talk) 00:38, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
