Speedy deletion of Media Matters (India)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Media Matters (India) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TNX-Man 16:11, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Media matters is not for profit organisation in India. Working very seriously in the development sector. The prime concern of the organisation is to provide communication support for other not for profit organisations and work with them. Media matters wish to contribute and share resources its has accumulated in its long experience. Some materials on developmental issues needed to be shared with community for which i find the wikipedia is best platform.

Please consider no deletion of the article Thanks

As reviewing administrator, I had to delete the article. Please see our Business FAQ for an explanation of how we handle material like this, and some suggestion for how , possibly, to write an acceptable article. Basically, you need 3rd party, independent reliable published sources, print or online (but not blogs or press releases).
We treat profit-making and non-profit organisationjust the same. We aren't asource for public relations for even the most worthwhile organisation, until it becoms notable, per WP:N. DGG (talk) 18:38, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kisan Swaraj Yatra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Kisan Swaraj Yatra. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
