Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Baalbek, have removed content without a good reason to do so. Content on Wikipedia should not be removed just because you disagree with it or because you think it's wrong, unless the claim is not verifiable. Instead, you should consider expanding the article with noteworthy and verifiable information of your own, citing reliable sources when you do so. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Information icon Hello, I'm Doug Weller. I noticed that you recently removed content from Baalbek without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Certainly a university press and Reuters are not state funded Doug Weller talk 16:31, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew is a state actor; he is a former Israeli government member. He is tasked with giving legitimacy to the eradication of UN/UNESCO heritage sites and using the “terrorism” label. He has been discredited as someone who participated in the false WMD charge that led to American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. While University Presses do publish former government workers as a courtesy, he is not a professor and was educated in an Israeli university. If you prefer, I can add a “other side” sentence by a university press in Egypt that refutes his information if you feel a university press is the hallmark of legitimacy.
