Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. License tagging for Image:L 13c1c7cb0342340b4449f9434ae49bae.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:L 13c1c7cb0342340b4449f9434ae49bae.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --OrphanBot (talk) 18:07, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

==Benedict Glaister==

Some of your recent Benedict Glaister edits have removed citation tags that I placed there because it is necessary to provide verifiable inline citations for the things you write on Wikipedia. I chose those places to place tags because most of those facts might be questioned by others editors, though the whole article is rather badly sourced and referenced. If you don't know what to do, or how to do, it just ask, but please do not remove tag left by other editors as that is regarded as vandalism, which was no doubt not your intention. Don't forget to assess the links in the welcome information I posted above. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 20:21, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, did not mean to remove the tags, I am trying to edit the page to make it better, sourced and references wise. Thanks for the help.
also when it comes to pictures, I'm not sure how to do the copyright and how to the citations. thanks for the help. Lady234 (talk) 10:13, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem as I replaced the tags. If you need to put in some inline citations, just let me know and I will show you how or check out this page. Under the Policies and Guidelines section of the welcome you will find links to copyright and image use policy. The image must, either be in the public domain, or have a suitable licence like Creative Commons but if all else fails you might be able to use a image under fair-use policy. Do you have am image and where did you get it? ww2censor (talk) 16:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any way you can check how many people have viewed your page? Thank you Lady234 (talk) 10:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately not that I know of. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 16:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help again, i think i would need some help with citations. Also I was keen to do an infobox, I saw one was up, but this was for a military person, he however was more of adventurer i was wondering how i changed this. thank you. Lady234 (talk) 17:18, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You tried to put one in yourself but missed some of the code; the closing brackets }. You might want to choose a new template here. I would suggest using the biography template with the basic parameters, not all the parameters. Citations are also done with templates as I mentioned above. That page lists both the format for web sites as well as books and journals. Copy the format from the page and fill in the data you have. Ask if you can't figure it out. Here is a page that contains the book and website citation template in use on a page that I did a lot of work on, though some are truncated where the ref is use several times. A tag has been placed on Captain Percy 'Trimmer' Glaister requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
