Hey LabFox, how's it going, I see the Ex page had another debate on whether or no to keep it and again it was kept, man, I'm so relieved, I really appriciate your effort and the work you have done to the page in general, I seriously hope a third debate will not happen, keep up the good work - RVDDP2501 01:51, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello RVDDP2501! Yes, the Extinctioners page had another deletion discussion. It seems to me that a bunch of edits directly before the discussion started, done by an IP address and SilverWerewolf, were the reason why Kwsn noticed the article and got the idea to mark it for deletion again. It looks like SilverWerewolf basically wanted to copy the Extinctioners related Wikifur articles to Wikipedia. Unfortunately this made the article too big, which was one of the things someone criticized in the first deletion discussion.
I'm glad the debate is over, and I see that you and some others already shortened the Extinctioners article. And I see that you removed all the non-functional picture links from the individual character articles. Nice job, that was one of the things SilverWerewolf forgot when he copied those articles from Wikifur.
One thing that still needs to be added are citations, since the lack of reliable sources was the main reason why the notability of the comic was debated. I already asked Shawntae on the article's talk page if he could give us citations from the Comic Buyer's Guide and the CGG 2007 Price Guide.
I also hope that nobody will start a third debate about a possible deletion of the article. I'll keep an eye on it of course.
Keep up the good work as well and take care! --LabFox 08:15, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I hope we can get a citation soon, btw, the only thing I'm a little unhappy about is that all the links (character and otherwise) to wikifur are gone and I'm not sure if we can put them back without raising more issues with the admins, what do you think? - RVDDP2501 16:55, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, that's a very good question. On one side, we have DreamGuy, who removed all Wikifur links back on June 17th, but he did this as part of a massive "link deleting rush", and not everyone was happy with his work. But on the other side, in the last deletion discussion Kesh suggested that a Wikifur link would be a good idea. Maybe we could compromise - since Wikifur contains more information about the comic, a single link to the Extinctioners article there should be useful, but the links to the individual characters' pages at Wikifur aren't really necessary, because you can still get there via the link to the main article.
I'd say we should just add the link to the Wikifur article in the External Links section, and if someone removes it again put the link up for discussion on the article's talk page.
Oh, and by the way, neither DreamGuy nor Kwsn, who started the second discussion about possible deletion, are admins. It doesn't look like anyone of the admins objected the Wikifur links. --LabFox 19:45, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Really?! those two were not Admins?! and the Admins didn't have a problem with the wikifur link?! I did not know that... huh... hmmm... so you wanna put the wikifur link back in, perhaps right below the extinctioners main website link? I'm a little edgy right now, a bit afraid to make any edit for fear of jeopardizing the page altogether, know what I mean? - RVDDP2501 23:05, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I definitely understand what you mean. I've just checked Wikipedia:External links, searching for the reason why DreamGuy removed those Wikifur links, and found this rule in Links normally to be avoided: "Links to open wikis, except those with a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors." And there was a huge debate about Wikifur links on the talk page. Maybe it would be best to suggest the Wikifur link on the Extinctioners article talk page, referencing Kesh's suggestion of the link, and then discuss about it. This way we can get more opinions and reach a consensus. --LabFox 08:48, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
ok, making the suggestion on the talk page does sound like a good idea but I was wondering if you could make the suggestion for me beacuse I'm still abit edgy right now and I not sure what to say or how to make this suggestion without inadvertantly sounding like I'm complaining about the removal of the link, ok? - RVDDP2501 11:21, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I'll take care of that tomorrow when I have more time. --LabFox 20:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks again, I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your work and effort in maintaining, improving and supporting this article, take care :) - RVDDP2501 00:43, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome :). As a big Extinctioners fan, I enjoy working on the article. Take care as well! --LabFox 11:29, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
no problem, please let me know if there is a decision on this matter - RVDDP2501 16:53, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I'll let you know. --LabFox 08:14, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hello RVDDP2501! I've just added the Wikifur link to the Extinctioners article. I had put up the link for debate on the article's talk page, and since nobody objected my suggestion during the last 18 days, I thought it should be okay now.

Take care! --LabFox 15:00, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok, thanks for the heads up and keep your fingers crossed that nothing bad happens lol - RVDDP2501 15:27, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the article doesn't seem to be the focus of interest for the people that don't like Wikifur, so I hope everything will stay as it is :). --LabFox 19:28, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
yeah, me too, I guess all we can do basically is wait and see. Say btw, I was wondering if you might know something about this. A few people I know told me about some other creation/characters of Shawntae's which are considered canon since they appeared in one of the Extinctioners comics, a police group called the L.A.P.D.O.G.S.? I don't know anything except they tried to apprehend Sly and Erica? if you know anything, please let me know, I have asked Shawntae the same question but he has yet answered my e-mail. If there is sufficient info on these characters and that they are canon, I would very much like to make pages for them in the wiki page - RVDDP2501 23:13, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've never read the L.A.P.D.O.G.S. comics myself, but they have been discussed in the Yahoo groups. What I know is that the comic is about a special division of the Lost Angels Police Department on Alden. The original story or stories appeared in several issues of New Horizons, as far as I know it was in issues 3 to 6. Some or all of these stories were written by Teflon Cougar. I don't know exactly what happened in these stories, but part of one of these was the arrest of Lynx Wylde, who was recruited as a Tracker in the Extinctioners comic, so there is a sort of link between the L.A.P.D.O.G.S. and the Extinctioners storylines.
Shawntae posted a couple of pages from one of the original stories in the adult Extinctioners group back in 2004. The filenames were doggonep01.jpg to doggonep06.jpg. I don't know if these files are still in the group.
Back in 2004, it was also said that the artist Carlito was doing a L.A.P.D.O.G.S. remake which was supposed to get it's own one shot comic in 2005. Carlito even posted a preview, but I haven't heard anything new about this project.
Shawntae has also done several pictures of the main characters. Some of them might still be around in the Yahoo groups or in one of Shawn's artwork archives. If you want to search for pictures, look for Cassie Collins, Domino Doz, Damion Pincer and Gerald Sheperson. Several or all of these characters have also appeared in Shawn's How to draw: Canins portfolio.
I'm afraid that's about everything I know. If you want more information, I suppose it would be best to ask either Teflon Cougar or Carlito, since they both surely know everything about L.A.P.D.O.G.S.. And Shawntae will definitely answer your email, his replies have been a little slow recently because he's been travelling the past one or two weeks.
By the way, what did you mean with the L.A.P.D.O.G.S. tried to apprehend Sly and Erica? Are you referring to one of the comics? Or did you get this information from someone else? I remember that Sgt. Greystoke and some other soldiers from the Solar Force tried to arrest Sly and Erica in their appartment, but I don't remember that the L.A.P.D.O.G.S. was involved. --LabFox 21:38, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well what I heard from someone is that in the last pages of issue #5, Sgt. Greystroke crashed into Sly and Erica's apartment to arrest them, according to what the person told me, they quoted him saying, "I Am Seargent Greystroke of the Solar Strikeforce Military Police in conjunction with the L.A.P.D.O.G.S.". Ok then, I'll see if I can get in touch with this Carlito guy, do you have a link? and hopefully Shawntae will provide some info I can use to make pages - RVDDP2501 13:44, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay, that makes sense, the military police working together with the L.A. police. I didn't remember that detail :).
Carlito is on FurAffinity, his userpage is here. I don't have his email address, but as far as I remember, his Yahoo ID is "x_carlito_x". I just don't know if he's still using his Yahoo email address. --LabFox 17:56, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Extinctioners page again

[edit]

Hey, I just saw SilverWerewolf had added another link to the external links section, should we be concerned about this? - RVDDP2501 01:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the link, it doesn't make sense to me if there is a link to only one of three different publishers of the comic, especially since SFA doesn't publish it anymore. And since there is a wikilink to the article about Shanda Fantasy Arts, the external link isn't necessary. --LabFox 19:54, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Germany Invitation

[edit]

Hello, LabFox! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

Hey LabFox, its been a while, I'm sorry to bother you but I was wondering if I could talk to you about something, if you may be able to help me with something, if so, how may I contact you outside wikipedia? - RVDDP2501 (talk) 01:16, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RVDDP2501! I would suggest you just send me an e-mail via the Wikipedia e-mail system. I don't want to post contact information on Wikipedia pages to keep real life information about me to a minimum. When you've sent me the first e-mail, we can continue the conversation outside of Wikipedia. --LabFox (talk) 06:37, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
