Sorry, SM, but I can't take any more adoptees right now. I currently have about five adoptees - and I believe I have too many than I can handle, even by co-adopting. You could seek User:Chubbennaitor, User:the ed17, User:Thingg, or User:Chamal N - I would highly recommend any of those.

Well I mainly revert vandalism but I have helped newer editors in the past mainly with wiki formatting and I'm not sure if I could be an adopter yet. Sailer.Moon.rules got help on his talk page about bold text and I thought to myself, 'I could do that'! I left a message on his talk page, I'll see what he says. Hi. As a loyal TPS, I'm still here (but about to go myself). Part of reason I offered that guy adoption was because I was bored, but she didn't seem to be too interested in what I said to her (I had a little session about edit summaries but she has still not used one since!). I actually started during a very odd time in my life where I obsessed over anime/manga... (-rolls eyes-) I made a lot of stupid, useless, reverted, clue-less edits, but eventually I shifted to Artemis Fowl, then clouds, then lately I've been poking at one of Ayumi Hamasaki's albums... hopefully, the person'll come around like I did. My adoptee said she'll be on at 7am but she didn't tell where she lives so I have not idea of her local time (it could be 7am where she is now for all I know). I'll see what she likes doing, then try and develop from there. I want to write my own little assignments like Ed gave me to do as well, she might turn out to be a fabulous article builder or something, who knows...! Problem IP

I'm having trouble with this IP. He started by adding obscure comments, then removing warnings from his talk page. Now he is threatening me and saying he will report me for abuse. No, no, I have removed it. I wouldn't want to make the situation worse and have him/her blocked.

Umm... I have gone through this problem, and looks to me like that edit was an unnecessary one, though not really intentional vandalism. He just seems to be too hot headed to listen to anything else and absolutely convinced that he's right. Hopefully, he will reconsider it now at least (well, I'm an optimist). And Ollie, don't worry too much about threats. If you're fighting vandalism, you have to be prepared for that kind of things and more. Even if you're reported, you don't get into trouble unless the Wikipedia community decides that your edits are harmful, and I'm sure community consensus would be in your favour in a situation like this. I think I'll stop as well, for now. I've done the first 8 and added images, and left 7 for you (is it too much? I can do several more if you're too busy). The later ones will probably be easy, there'll probably be more references than you need :) I just checked, and I think we can get a DYK if we can complete the list within 2 or 3 days. 5X expansion is already there. It doesn't need to be perfect for DYK, just completing the list will do. Then we can do the necessary cleanup and polishing and put it up for WP:FLC. What do you think? new issue

will you please resolve another issue with: seicer per: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:69.129.170.102 (these are seperate issues with someone else that has apparently used the computer and sent or left messages that upset this user. still he is not using the proper avenue for dispute resolution, which is a common problem here. after everything was settled, he changed it and removed the comment again. he is basing some form of abuse or the identical problem as the other two you and i disputed over had (deleting without taking message in context on talk page). there is no reason it has to be deleted, except that he can do it and wants to power-trip. it's immature and wrong... thank you for your help.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.252.29.46 (talk)

The IP has been blocked for the following reasons, and looks to me like the IP is guilty of all three:

• Evading blocks from User:Funwisconsinguy2007 and User:Appleton wisconsin guy
• Soapboxing
• Non-article commentary on article talk pages.

The block issue has been monitored by the relevant admin (and others who have brought it to the attention of this admin) and this IP has been blocked because there is a certain similarity or relation between the contributions of this IP and the other two mentioned accounts. Apparently it is also the same IP address as Funwisconsinguy2007's, which obviously leads to the conclusion that it's the same person. There has been no checkuser involvement as far as I could find out. See Wikipedia:BLOCK#Evasion_of_blocks for the policy on this.

The other two reasons, soapboxing and non-article commentary are both related and is about the edit that was the subject of the dispute earlier (and similar edits). This edit looks to me like something that shouldn't be on an article talk page (although it was restored following the discussion on your talk page), in accordance with the policies WP:SOAPBOX and WP:TALK. It presents your POV, and it does look like trying to convince others about your ideas. It was not related to the article although it was on the same subject (not about something in it, or something that should be added to it - just an idea on it, and a wikipedia article talk page is not the place to publish that). If this information can be sourced, it could be added to the article or you can discuss on the talk page about the necessary changes to the article. However, from what I gathered from the talk page, this issue has been discussed before and consensus was not to include the information since reliable sources could not be provided and it contradicts the other (better) sources.

I don't know if this comment was made by the same person (IP is different) but I'm guessing that it is. Please assume good faith, and before you go accusing others of violating rules, please consider if what you're doing is right. I'm sorry, but nobody is going to listen to you if you go around blaming others while making the same mistakes yourself. Chamal ^talk 11:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, anon, I've read through the discussion, and Chamal's right. Even though you have made an entirely benign, innocent comment on the talk page, your conduct and method of persuasion is disruptive. I have read the links I gave you - and no one on this page or others that I have seen are blatantly victimizing you, or at least confronting you in the manner that you are with us. Not everyone in the world can agree with your point of view - and even then, please try to make it presentable. I understand your frustration, but please, let the situation die out on its own. I know that there is nothing "vandalistic" or intentionally offensive in your comment, but please attempt to make it seem less like a disruptive comment. You understand that getting frustrated while editing gives others perfect ground to assume malicious intent, even if there is none present.
