Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, LCPWolf. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Sierra Nevada Corporation, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 20:15, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. Remember that when adding content about health, please only use high-quality reliable sources as references. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations (There are several kinds of sources that discuss health: here is how the community classifies them and uses them). WP:MEDHOW walks you through editing step by step. A list of resources to help edit health content can be found here. The edit box has a built-in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:07, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Not discolosed what? I'm a 1099 individual with no ties to SNC. I am trying to edit a page on cryolipolysis; a page that needs updating and has nothing to do with the page you think I have a tie to.

Decline reason:

Please read WP:PAID and WP:DISCLOSE again. If you are receiving monetary gains for your contributions, you must disclose every connection. Alex Shih (talk) 16:42, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Okay so you are a 1099 individual meaning you are an independent contractor rather than staff? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:47, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Query-- What is a "1099 individual? -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:30, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dlohcierekim: I think it's related to Form 1099, with this editor basically declaring that they are an independent contractor, without disclosing any other details. Alex Shih (talk) 16:42, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
But despite the protests and circumlocutions, still meeting WP:PAID. Forgive me if I'm wrong, LCPWolf (I'm too cold.) but that seems a bit slippery/disingenuous of you. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 18:00, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As to "updating the article", Doc James left information about sourcing articles in this subject area. We're very particular about sourcing this subject area. Cheers, -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:34, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
