helpme
[edit]I don't think this article quite qualifies as patent nonsense, but it appears to be a mix of (shall we say "patent-pending"?) nonsense, advertising, and puerility. Under what category might I recommend it for deletion? Thanks...and I hope I'm using this "helpme" thing appropriately. If not, please be merciful to a newbie. ;-) Kyriosity 03:10, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think it is pretty much patent nonsense, and speedy deletion is appropriate. So placing {{db|nonsense, advertising, and puerility}} is probably the way to go. If you were not sure about trying to get it speedily deleted, you could try a PROD (proposed deletion method) or the full-blown Articles for deletion method. The varying paths of deletion are summarised at Wikipedia:Deletion#Deletion_processes.--Commander Keane 03:23, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Also, it appears to be a duplicate article! :p It seems as though this article and Camp Ramah in Wingdale refer to the same thing. They're both non-notable, in my opinion. I will be prodding the Wingdale article, in order to give its author time to respond (he/she seems to find the article important). The Berkshire article is a duplicate article, however, and it is patent nonsense. So if you want to put the {{db}} notice up yourself, please go ahead. Gracenotes T § 03:52, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Danke beaucoup, Commander Keane and Gracenotes. Mercy but I'm being bold all over the place today! Kyriosity 04:07, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
{{helpme}}
I've got an anonymous vandal, posting under the name Dougwils, who is persistently changing the entry on Douglas Wilson (theologian). What can I do? Can he at least be stopped from using the man's name?
- I've issued him a warning. For now, keep an eye on the article, and continue reverting any vandalism. If he continues, keep issuing warnings, escalating up to level 4 (I used {{uw-blp1}} just now, but please feel free to use whatever seems most appropriate). If he continues to make nonconstructive edits after you issue a level 4 warning, report him to WP:AIV. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:46, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, Hersfold!
Proofreader help
[edit]I noticed you're doing a lot of spelling/typo fixes. You might be interested in using Wikipedia:AWB, which can automate the process a bit. Also, you might be interested in some other helpful tools such as wikEd (which is a little buggy but still helpful) and the other things listed at Wikipedia:Tools/Editing_tools. --Flex (talk|contribs) 16:23, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- I did see this note, by the way...just haven't gotten around to looking at the resources you suggest! Kyriosity 05:16, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Cogan House Covered Bridge
[edit]Thanks for your edit to Cogan House Covered Bridge. According to your edit summary you made the change because A descendant asked me to correct "Meyers" to "Meyer." Here's my concern - I have two reliable sources on Valentine Meyers and they both agree that his name has an "s" at the end (one source is cited in the article, the other is not yet, but will be as I am planning on expanding the article soon). Both sources are by the same author (Milton W. Landis) and it is certainly possible that they are in error on "Meyers". I would be glad to give the other spelling ("Meyer") in the article, but I need a reliable source to back that up, and I think that is up to you or your acquaintance to provide. Since "Encyclopedic content must be verifiable", I am reverting until a reliable source is provided (or two). I look forward to hearing from you soon, thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:20, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Leithart - CREC
[edit]I have to tell you I am confused about this one. On the one hand if you go to the Church website [1] it says: "Trinity Reformed Church began as a mission church of Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho in the fall of 2003. It became a full member church of the Confederation of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC) at the CREC Presbytery meeting in the fall of 2005." Go to the officers' page [2] and it says: " Peter Leithart Dr. Peter Leithart (Ph.D., Cambridge, Th.M., Westminster Theological Seminary) is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and the Dean of Graduate Studies and Senior Fellow at New Saint Andrews College, Moscow, Idaho. Peter and his wife Noel live just outside of Moscow. They have 10 children and one grandson. Dr. Leithart's personal blog may be found at leithart.com" He is Dean of Graduate Studies at New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho, which as I understand it is affiliated with CREC. But again I don't know.Sweetmoose6 (talk) 14:46, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, Sweetmoose6. Thanks for your note. My understanding is that Dr. Leithart remains a member of the PCA in the status of "serving out of bounds." It is possible that he has joint membership in the CREC, but without any clear statement to that effect from a published source, we should not list him as a member of the CREC. Best name on Wikipedia!
[edit]Dear sister,
thank you so much for your sympathy and wisdom in response to my notification of the loss of our daughter. The faith we have been given is great consolation for my wife and I. Thanks for your kindness in caring to read, reflect and take to heart the poem I wrote for Sarah. I think your username here is one of the cleverest I've seen: for those with eyes to see it! ;)

The article Beloved Pictures has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Overly promotional, speculative article. Subject seems to fail WP:CORPDEPTH
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BDD (talk) 22:07, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
