Hi Shannon! Great job on your contribution. I have listed some comments below relating to your article:
(1) I like how you contributed to several different sections (background information, evolutionary history and crop development) equally.
(2) You used a variety of credible sources to contribute to your writing.
(3) Your contribution contained a lot of interesting words that I haven't heard of! (ex.- peduncle, silage, tilth, etc.)
(4) You did a great job of including several different types of species under the Secale genus in your paper.
(5) What are SSR sequences? Perhaps you could include what it stands for and then put "SSR" in parentheses shortly afterwards?
Hi Shannon! I really enjoyed reading your article and I think that you did a great job! I posted some of my general comments below!
- General comments
- I really enjoyed reading your article, and I think that you did a good job making your points clear in each of the sections that you wrote.
- I really like how organized your article is and I think you did a good job discussing different parts of Secale
- Your article was very well written and everything that I read made sense to me
- I did not have any questions
- Grammar
- I did not see any spelling errors or any periods or commas that were missing or out of place.
- All of the scientific names were written correctly.
- References
- There were five distinct references
- All appeared to be from a scientific journal
- Your references section looked great. The only suggestions I have are for your first reference, I believe only the first letter of the authors’ last names needs to be capitalized, and I do not think that there should be a period between J and P. Also, Secale cereal L. and Triticum aestivum L. should be italicized. For the title of your articles, only the first letter of the first word in the title needs to be capitalized. Also, I think that Poaceae should be italicized. For your third reference, Secale should be italicized. For reference 5, Secale montarium should be italicized. For all of the references, I do not think that you have to italicize the journal. Other than these minor things I did not see anything that I would change about your article. You really did a great job!
Secale peer review by Milan Patel a. General comments: i. What is the main take home message of this article? 1. The main take home message is that Secale is a genus of Triticeae tribe and is closely related to the Hordeum taxon and is known for it's weedy rye. ii. What do you like about this Wikipedia contribution? What do you dislike? 1. I like that it was well constructed and had different sections describing their species. 2. There was not much to dislike since lots of history was included as well as a good summary on the species. One thing I would change is adding in basic information such as average height. iii. Is there anything written that doesn’t make sense? 1. This paper was very well organized and made sense. iv. What questions do you have as you are reading the text? Be specific. 1. One question I have is if the species Secale is closely related to the Hordeum, which one is older? b. Grammar
