Ash quotes

[edit]

What do you think about adding some quotes from the first film Evil Dead? All the current quotes are from Evil Dead II and AoD.--SUIT 03:52, 2 December 2006 (UTC) Sounds feasable and I'll give it a shot, I think though he didn't have very many truly memorable lines from the first film per se. Been awhile since I've seen it.--Kung Fu Man 18:18, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ash Williams

[edit]

I created a new section for comic tranformations and added Zombie Ash to it, chances are that he will get a few more different forms in comics so it seems convenient to have such a section, that's about it-see ya!-Dark Dragon Flame 20:25, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'd say WP:RFC is the place to go now. There's been a bit of a hubbub over what to include and what not, but people generally don't feel strongly enough about Street Fighter articles to make their case. I mean, I opened up a mediation case about full-name articles and I really haven't followed up on it because I don't feel it's a big enough deal to kick dirt up for. But honestly, an RFC is probably the best next step now. JuJube 07:16, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You really ought to follow up on it. We've set a left and right boundary and are now working towards meeting in the middle somewhere. Flakeloaf 01:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Street Fighter articles

  • If you have sources for the height and weight, I guess they can stay. But they were removed largely because of edit wars perpetrated by Sergeant Gerzi who insisted on adding incorrect information taken from Flash versions of the game. If this starts to happen again, I'll take the info out. JuJube 23:16, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • The whole panites or bloomers thing with Sakura isn't an issue with me, I had no clue about it being official; I just want to know where was that officially stated, and if so those are some very weird looking bloomers. Ashura96 03:04, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My "Rampage"

[edit]

I don't agree with your Darkstalkers comments - While Aenslaid is a common name - it is not the most common name. Her name is listed as just Morrigan far more times than her full name is mentioned. Whereas Jon Talbain and Lord Raptor are always listed in full (which I why I haven't changed them). There is absolutely no way the last names are as common as the first - you said that this is the most common name in documentation (which is untrue) - but you would have to be more than just a casual fan to look in places other than the obvious ones. Plus in the instruction booklet I have for Darkstalkers 3 - it says just Morrigan, Demitri, Jedah etc. I don't know where you're getting the idea that surnames are more common.

And as for being careful with Samurai Shodown, I already have been - I have only changed Charlotte and Galford as their last names are very very rarely mentioned. Basara's page was already correct and I have left the others as the announcer does say the surnames for almost all Sam Sho characters. Mr.bonus 17:00, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Informal mediation

[edit]

Wikipedia:Mediation_Cabal/Cases/2006-12-21_Street_Fighter_character_articles has been reopened by request. Please join in the discussion so we can finalize a compromise acceptable to all parties. Vassyana 22:27, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-12-21 Street Fighter character articles has been closed. When reopened, a clear strong consensus was displayed, with very few and limited objections to the consensus. Unanimous assent is not required for consensus. A supermajority supports the previous compromise and is unwilling to further accomodate the dissenting view. Therefore, I have closed the mediation accordingly. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, you may address them on my talk page. Vassyana 17:02, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Sagat-gohibiki.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sagat-gohibiki.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:54, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Mff fullbody belger.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mff fullbody belger.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:30, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Abyss (Capcom)

[edit]

Abyss (Capcom), an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Abyss (Capcom) satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abyss (Capcom) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Abyss (Capcom) during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Image:Term-bushin.jpg

[edit]

I have tagged Image:Term-bushin.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Babel Sword

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Babel Sword, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Babel Sword. Thanks, I appreciate it. At one time, WP:FN had a guideline saying to use references/ for 10 or fewer notes, and reflist for 11 or more. [edit]

I just got around to sifting through my talk page. Sorry I missed your comment about the Babel Sword article. Great to see it hanging in there, though. I just wanted to warn you about restoring the Angel (The King of Fighters) page. I had an e-argument with the guy (User: TTN) proposing the page deletion + redirection. Basically, he's fixated with sucking the fun out of Wikipedia by making one big crowded list of all the characters all because they somehow lack "Real-World sources" or something like that. Just be prepared for some possible incoming e-drama. I've got your back, though. Hang tough. Blacklist (talk) 09:49, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:VG Assessments

[edit]

I saw you recently assessed two articles for WP:VG/A. Thanks for doing that, all help is appreciated! I noticed, however, that you left no comments beyond edit summaries on the improvement of the articles. It is advised that the assessments are more than just a rating change: this is what separates WP:VG from processes like GA where it's just a list of criteria you fail or pass. The review component of assessments is important. See some of the peer reviews at WP:PR, or some recent assessments by other assessors, for what kind of comments are expected. SFIV SW guide

[edit]

I'm really disappointed in the way people have been handling this issue. Just because the game is still under development is not a good reason to keep the link off the page. I understand that things are likely to change from now until the game is finalized, but let's be honest, unless Capcom decides to change the motion of Ryu or Ken's Hadouken from qcf + P to something else, 90% of what's present in the guide now is still legitimate. And if people have an opportunity to go to one of the play test locations, then at least the guide is present for people who would like to know the latest info on how to play the game. I think the decision to remove the link has more to do with ego, and a desire to maintain a monopoly over the flow of new information about the game. A lot of work went in to the guide, and a lot of work will continue to go into the guide, and there's no reason to deny SW an External Link, especially since the purpose of SW is to provide people with a wiki where there can contribute information that falls outside of the scope of Wikipedia (e.g. character moves, character bios, and other information which may change, but will still be useful for new players to know.) AfD etiquette

[edit]

Hi, this is just a friendly note: try not to take it personally when an article you've contributed toward is nominated for deletion. I understand the frustration of having your work discarded, but remember that anything you contribute to Wikipedia is open information that anyone can edit or change in any given fashion. Articles that are poorly sourced or don't meet certain criteria or aren't informative may be nominated for deletion at any time. It's a good idea to argue against any of the points or claims brought up during the nomination, but not to attack the user arguing them. Thanks and good luck. 68.209.235.149 (talk) 23:56, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would really prefer something from an outside source, rather than just an observation of a timestamp or going into the ROM data yourself. Administrative discussions are not your personal dumping ground

[edit]

AN/I incidents, and other administrative tools, are not to be considered your personal dumping ground. Jumping to the defense of your comrades-in-arms with spurious "you, too!" accusations will do nothing to commission your innocence in any such matter. I suggest you find more constructive ways to represent your case, or refrain from making it worse as you are doing now. However, if you indeed feel you have a case against a another user, then there are more appropriate channels you can excercise -- threatening users and / or calling unsubstantiated claims against them will achieve nothing, other than damaging your established reputation as a trusted editor.
