Self-promotional editing
[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Mos Def. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. You have introduced almost identical promoting yourself, your work, and our website into at least a half dozen articles. If you continue this practice you are likely to have your editing privileges suspended. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 02:02, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, Ksellers3! I am Pinkadelica and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Rozanda Thomas
[edit]Hi. Regarding the content you've attempted to add to several articles, the content may be true but Wikipedia is not the place to try to "reach out" to any subject. Wikipedia is here only to provide information, not promotion. Further, Wikipedia does not allow MySpace links unless the subject of the article does not have an official website. It also cannot be used as a source because it is not considered reliable because it, like Wikipedia, is user-driven. I've left you a welcome template above. In that, there are links to Wikipedia's core policies which you should familiarize yourself with before adding content. If you need any additional help, please feel free to contact me again. Thanks. Edit warring/3RR
[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rozonda Thomas. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Even if you do not cross the 3RR line, the repeated reinsertion of self-promotional content into articles after it has been removed by other editors will also probably be treated as edit warring, and result in a similar suspension of editing privileges.
