"as of" in Asperger's syndrome

Hi Kranix,

You reverted my past tense to the present in the the phrase "..Asperger's is estimated to affect 31 million people as of 2013."

I disagree. Where do you find evidence that this phrase should use the present tense?

In my opinion "..as of 2013.." should be typically used for, say, something that is valid forever afterwards and the verb should be in the past tense.

I think it unlikely that the figure of 31 million people affected by Asperger syndrome will stay the same forever.

So, in my opinion, the phrase should be "....in 2013, 31 million people were affected by Aspeger's."

Sorry for the very late answer, I've been quite busy and then forgot to answer this.

All the examples of correct use on the second linked site use the present and not the perfect tense. I think the sentence we have here is comparable to the contract termination example, which the author of the post sees as incorrect; the act of estimating the amount of people with Asperger's cannot occur "on or after" 2013. I think we agree, however, that the least confusing way to write it is in fact this:

"...in 2013, 31 million people were estimated to be affected by Asperger's."

I will edit the sentence to this. I'm still a bit confused about this matter, though, so if you still disagree, please do tell.

Dutch orthography

Will you stop messing with the examples? They are perfectly fine. I don't know why you are making such a point about a vowel length mark. The section clearly says "long/tense" and not just "long". Please read Dutch phonology. CodeCat (talk) 17:04, 8 August 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tags

Please consider checking the edit history before reverting the addition of speedy tags. The original tag at Thought I Knew You (Nicki Minakj song) was a G4; the IP introduced an R3: redirects with an implausible typo or misnomer (in this case, an unnecessary K). Jalen D. Ah, I missed that k. I did check the criteria and history, but I couldn't figure out the reasoning behind 'implausible typo or misnomer' and thought it had to do with the part in brackets.
