Weep o mine eyes

[edit]

This is just a whim of mine, let's not make it too big. While suggestions are welcome I'd rather prefer those of ye fanatics and experts - don't see too much use in everybody and their pets adding Mariah Carey et al. Yes I am a little elitist when it comes to that kind of things, and no I won't apologize for that. Kosebamse

Quite offtopic, but just in case you're interested: User:Kosebamse/stuff#Weep_o_mine_eyes. Am currently looking through Arvo Pärt and Leonard Cohen; suggestions welcome. Kosebamse 13:09, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your suggestions. I had already considered Barber's Adagio and Pärt's Fratres (superb recordings by Kronos Quartet on one and the same CD, IIRC) and Mozart is another obvious choice, and I agree with "the whole thing" (but my personal favorite is the opening bars of the "Lacrimosa"). Will look into your other suggestions, and again thanks. Kosebamse 20:56, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a few suggestions, obviously subjective. You might ask Antandrus as well, if you've ever come across him (or even if you haven't; tell him I sent you); this sort of thing would be up his alley. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 17:36, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes, up my alley indeed  :-) I do love the "sweet and sad." Suggestions to follow shortly ... Antandrus (talk) 21:16, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, thoroughly agree with both your and Kat's suggestions. The Dona Nobis pacem from the B minor mass still floors me even after hearing it for thirty years. Antandrus (talk) 21:28, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
