Welcome

[edit]

Welcome to wikipedia, I hope you enjoy your stay and being a valuable contributor. I've reverted a few of your edits, mainly because the whole football/soccer naming issue is very sensitive with a lot of people (on both sides of the argument) so unless something is misleading, it is best to leave it the way you found it. The other edit you made to Southport Australian Football Club I reverted as it is not an AFL club - only the Bears/Lions and from next year Suns are AFL clubs in Queensland... all the others are Australian rules footballer (or Australian football) clubs, not AFL clubs. Your edits changing the nationalities of celebrities have been reverted. Varlaam (talk) 06:44, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --John (talk) 17:06, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Vocab Changes

[edit]

Please stop, these edits are against the consensus decided by dozens of hours of discussion. Consensus can change, but not by reverting things to your point of view over and over. Camw (talk) 09:32, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's a bogus argument, it already differentiates by saying either association football or football (soccer) - removing the word football does nothing to differentiate in either case. Not every single time the word football is subsequently mentioned does it need to be differentiated, see every other article on a football code in Australia - if you weren't agenda pushing, you'd be making changes to those as well. Camw (talk) 09:48, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you continue to edit war, you will be blocked per WP:3RR. Your changes go against the consensus that has taken many hours to come to, stop pushing your agenda, wikipedia is not a soapbox. Camw (talk) 09:58, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I also note above that you have been warned for similar behavior warring about nationalities earlier this month. I suggest you find something productive to do here, because if all you want to do is make edits that go against what the community has decided, you will find yourself blocked from editing. Take the advice given to you by "The-Pope" at the top of this page, no good will come from continuing to war over this issue. It would be much better for you if you find some topics you are interested in and positively contribute to those articles. Camw (talk) 10:11, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That was pretty obvious. Look for the Edit Warring report shortly at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Camw (talk) 10:16, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Report raised, feel free to comment over there if you would like to. I did find your last edit summary amusing though "association football has no claim over word "football"" - so a sport called association football, can't use the word football anywhere to describe it, that's some weird reasoning there. Camw (talk) 10:41, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for edit warring and abusing multiple accounts, namely User:A20963, to avoid repercussions. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Hi, sorry that it came to this but in a collaborative project, we cannot edit war back and forth, causing disruption to pages. When you come back from your block, come to my talk page or leave a message here and I'll be happy to show you some previous discussions on this naming issue that outline the views of the community and discuss the matter further with you. The current wording "football (soccer)" is a compromise between both "sides" that has been discussed over long periods of time, so changes to that compromise would need to go through a similar process. Thanks. Camw (talk) 15:01, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Soccer

[edit]

You have been blocked once before for this sort of thing. Stop it. If you want change seek consensus first. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 04:30, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop and seek consensus. You are not helping matters at all. If you continue you will be blocked again. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 06:21, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Keep the faith mate. It is soccer even if the Winston Smiths eventually get their way

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Stadium Australia. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Mattinbgn (talk) 06:36, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for your disruption caused by edit warring by violation of the three-revert rule at Perth Oval. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
