Speedy deletion nomination of Li Yanrong
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Li Yanrong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion of Li Yanrong declined
[edit]Hello. Per the notice you received above, a tag had been placed on Li Yanrong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please note that after review, I have declined the deletion request on the basis that the article properly indicated importance by noting that Li is the current president of a major academic institution, so you do not need to worry about this article being speedily deleted. Please note that speedy deletion is only one of three deletion processes on Wikipedia; my decline does not prevent users from invoking the separate, longer term deletion methods of proposed deletion or bringing the article to articles for deletion. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mz7 (talk) 17:17, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
I acknowledge why User:Bbb23 blocked me and I respect his decision. I am only requesting to allow editing in the File mainspace because 1)I am an active user on Wikimedia Commons, 2)I would like to fix the descriptions for some files and 3)I want to fix the licensing for some files. A request to the Arbitration Committee could not be made due to this block which is why I am requesting an unblock here. Thank you.
Decline reason:
Your request is essentially "I want to be unblocked so I can edit", which doesn't actually address the reason(s) for your block or provide any assurances that the problems wouldn't reoccur if you were to be unblocked. Please read WP:GAB before making any further requests. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:38, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
I acknowledge why User:Bbb23 blocked me and I respect his decision. He blocked me because I am editing in the same IP address of another blocked or banned user which I think is due to the fact that the houses in my neighborhood are kind of stacked together. I reassure you that I am trustworthy enough and won't vandalize Wikipedia because 1) None of my contributions could be considered vandalism, 2) I don't have the intention to vandalize Wikipedia and know the consequences and 3)What is the point of vandalizing Wikipedia? You don't get anything from it. I am only requesting to allow editing in the File mainspace because 1)I am an active user on Wikimedia Commons, 2)I would like to fix the descriptions for some files and 3) I want to fix the licensing for some files. Decline reason:
You are not blocked for vandalism; you are blocked for sockpuppetry. —DoRD (talk) 23:24, 8 May 2017 (UTC)

@DoRD: I addressed this in my request. Like I said, the houses in my neighborhood are very close together, so my IP address may show up as the same as any of my neighbors. I have no intentions to vandalize Wikipedia at all.Kong of Lasers (talk) 22:47, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
- That is, quite simply, not how IP addresses work. Reventtalk 14:41, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Revent: OK, but can't you limit my edits to files only?Kong of Lasers (talk) 22:33, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- I certainly can't, since I have no advanced permissions over here. The community could impose a topic ban (which is not a technical measure) but I think it's pretty unlikely you're going to be unblocked just for that, given your requests so far. You might want to go read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks, as was suggested above. Reventtalk 22:41, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Still blocked?
[edit]Dear Wikipedia, Why on Earth can you not limit me only to the File namespace? --Kong of Lasers (talk) 04:54, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hello fellow Wikipedians, I know many of you think I am User:IExistToHelp and don't trust me. I respect User:Bbb23 for his decision to block me, however I believe it is time for this to be changed. I am asking to be unblocked primarily because 1)User:IExistToHelp is my brother and I have photographic evidence to support that, 2)It is not possible for me to edit on a different IP address as him or my friends(or his friends)when they come to my house or my other family members unless if I use a VPN, 3)I would like to improve the File mainspace. 4)I will not go back to the disputes that were connected to users using this IP address. Thank you and I will respect any decisions made after this.
Decline reason:
Funny how above you said that the sockpuppetry issue was "due to houses being stacked together". Now it's your brother. I can't even imagine what photographic evidence for you not editing as User:IExistToHelp might look like. Huon (talk) 01:52, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

- @Huon: Okay, I will upload a family photo. Thank you for observing that the houses stacked together thing wasn't meant to work because I know what IP addresses were. Thanks to AT&T, my Internet service provider, my IP address is basically in their control. So according to Wikimedia, it is impossible for more than one family members to have an account because we have the same IP address? That's BS. --Kong of Lasers (talk) 04:18, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- We have no way of telling whether the photo you intend to upload shows your family. Even if we accept it's yours, we still would not be able to tell which person in that family used what account. What we do know is that this account was created a few days after "your brother's" was indefinitely blocked, plus strong, strong behavioural evidence. The fact that "your brother" admitted to lying earlier about creating sockpuppets to evade the block of course also makes it more difficult to believe in coincidence. Huon (talk) 15:27, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Huon: I have read Wikipedia:The duck test and I have declared on Wikimedia Commons that I have nothing to do with him. If he confessed to creating sockpuppets, that's his problem. But can you show me the page in which he confessed. By the way I will put
{{User shared IP address|IExistToHelp}}

- I've reverted your talk page access. If we take you at your word that this is a coincidence because
"the houses in my neighborhood are kind of stacked together""he's my brother" and "it is not possible for me to edit on a different IP address as him or my friends(or his friends)" then you're both equally incompentent to edit Wikipedia at this time and should not be unblocked. But you're not separate individuals and, besides the obvious behavioural evidence in addition to the technical confirmation, you have one very very unusual tell that gives you away. I've revoked talk page access to prevent any further time wasting here. If you want to pursue an unblock you'll have to use WP:UTRS via your original account.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:59, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
