Suggestion

[edit]

You can try your hand in these articles as you have the requisite knowledge.

All the best Amartyabag TALK2ME 08:53, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about the syntax and rules much, with time you will learn them easily. Start writing the articles if you can and leave the rest to other editors. There will be many editors, who will correct small errors. BTW, I am on SSC as BengaliTiger. Amartyabag TALK2ME 10:18, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fill the articles in the list with as many images you have. The links take you to a Template, which contains sub-articles.

Regarding edits to Kolkata

[edit]

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia! Kindly make it a habit to discuss on the talk page whenever you want to make broad edits, as you did to Kolkata. Its a much simpler and neater process than seeing your edits reverted. Hope you have a good time here! Lynch7 17:59, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks a lot for your honest efforts to improve the article Kolkata. Kolkata is a featured article in wikipedia, however currently it is in featured article review as the community agrees that the quality of the article has fallen from featured status. So we have to work together to improve the quality of the article. You can see the cocerns why the article is not very good any more. The article lacks adequate references and good references. So, I would request you that if you add something very new, please try to supply references for that. Also, lots of images do not make an article better, although images are very very important and complement the text.
As a relatively new wikipedian, you may be interested to know further about the referencing process, some good things are here : Wikipedia:Citing sources. Again, thank you for your effort. Please help to maintain the featured article status of Kolkata. Regards. --Dwaipayan (talk) 23:35, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Overwriting images

[edit]

Please don't overwrite images with other images except for cosmetic changes. If you have another image you want to use, please upload it to a new name and replace all the instances of the old image. Magog the Ogre (talk) 22:33, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited List of shopping malls in Kolkata, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Salt Lake and Bhawanipur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
