Information icon Hello, Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Matthias Kraume, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 08:49, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 10:43, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello 331dot,
I am not being directly or indirectly compensated or paid in any form for my edits.
Thank you. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 10:49, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You took a very professional looking image of Professor Krause. What is your relationship with him? 331dot (talk) 10:52, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no conflict of interest with Professor Krause, as my work is for Professor Matthias Kraume. The image in question was taken at a public lecture with permission. It is intended to contribute solely to the Wikipedia article for educational and information purposes, in line with Wikipedia's content policies. Thank you. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 11:31, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can believe that you took the image of Professor Kraume, but the image of Professor Krause is a professional headshot. You're saying you took it yourself? 331dot (talk) 11:52, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You also seem to have access to Professor Kraume as you were at an event he was at and took his picture there. 331dot (talk) 10:53, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello 331dot, In addition to my previous response, I do not have any access to Professor Matthias Kraume. However, I believe that updating the article with relevant information would be beneficial to the scientific community. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 11:37, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can't both work with him(as you say above) and have no access to him at the same time. Please clarify. 331dot (talk) 11:50, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello 331dot, I do not work with or have access to Professor Matthias Kraume. Thank you Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 11:55, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You unambiguously said "my work is for Professor Matthias Kraume". So that was an error? Are you employed by the professor or the university? 331dot (talk) 12:00, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see, this must be a misunderstanding. I am not and was not employed by Prof. Kraume. For clarity, by ‘my work’, I meant the Wikipedia page I created for him. Thanks once again. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 12:11, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Are you employed by the university? Please also confirm that you are saying you took the very professional looking headshot of Professor Krause- where he posed for you. 331dot (talk) 12:37, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I am not employed at Technische University Berlin. I did not personally take the picture but I was present when it was taken with a phone. Additionally, I have obtained it with permission of reuse. Thank you. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 12:58, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then you will need to go to Commons immediately without delay and change the copyright/license information. It currently says that you personally took the photo and you personally hold the copyright to it. If someone else holds the copyright but has released the image for use with a free license(allowing for reuse by anyone for any purpose with attribution) then the information with the image must reflect that. 331dot (talk) 13:06, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the advice. The information has been added to the image. thank you. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 13:42, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You edited the source, but you are still claiming to be the author and claiming to hold the copyright personally. I would suggest working with those at Commons to address this issue. 331dot (talk) 13:45, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello 33dot, I have updated the information to address the issue. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 16:21, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, can you kindly refer me to how one can work with those in Commons. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 16:28, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While I know that Commons is where to address that issue, I'm not very familiar with the inner workings of it- you'll need to go there and see what forum is there to get assistance. All you did was put an abbreviation of some kind, but your name is still linked and the copyright notice still claims the uploader is the copyright holder(this needs to be changed that the copyright was released, which requires evidence)
Again, what is your relationship with Krause? (you answered with regards to Kraume, but not Krause) 331dot (talk) 16:38, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will check the procedure to work on the copyright issue then.
Also, I do not have a direct connection with Prof. Kruame and Prof. Krause. I have come to know Prof. Krause as a distinguished researcher in the field of Process Safety Engineering. He possesses extensive expertise in both theoretical and practical applications, particularly in areas such as the explosion characteristics of hybrid mixtures, fire and vapor cloud propagation, and the ignition of flammable substances. His contributions to the scientific community have been highly valuable for both research and industrial advancements. I believe including information about such a notable scientist on Wikipedia could inspire and motivate young researchers. With this objective in mind, I also plan to write about Prof. Arno Kwade from TU Braunschweig and Prof. Paul A. Christensen from Newcastle University in the coming years. Thank you. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 16:44, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. 331dot (talk) 16:50, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome, I appreciate your guidance and patience. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 17:32, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relationship with Professor Krause? 331dot (talk) 13:08, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Kindly refer to the previous response. Kofi Owusu Ansah Amano (talk) 10:14, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This was the first time I asked, not the second that you responded to above. 331dot (talk) 10:20, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
