Conflict of interest/asked to vote?

I have to ask: did anyone ask you to come in and weigh in on the AfD? Also, are you involved with the game in any way that would pose a conflict of interest? A conflict of interest doesn't have to be that you created the game or that you were involved in its production or promotion. In many instances a conflict of interest (COI) can be something as simple as you being a friend (close or just in passing) or family member of the people involved with the game's creation. For example, if one of my author friends grew notable enough to have an article written about them, then I would have a conflict of interest. Of course if you were even tangentially involved in the game's creation or promotion then that would pose a conflict of interest. Now none of this means that you can't edit or have an opinion, just that you have to be transparent about this conflict of interest. I won't lie- it can sometimes be difficult to edit with a conflict of interest but it is always better to clearly state this up front. Whatever you do if you have a COI do not and I repeat do not lie about it or try to avoid giving a direct answer to this question. That's a surefire way to ensure that you will be blocked. Now I know that it's possible that you aren't related, but I did want to stress all of this up front because a lot of people don't know the ins and outs of this- especially if they're new. My reason for stating this will be elaborated on below.

Now as far as being asked to come and weigh in, if you were asked by someone to come in and make an argument to keep a page then you need to clarify this as well- preferably giving the location if this was a public request (ie, someone posting on Twitter). Giving the location does not mean that any Wikipedia editors will go there and harass anyone. The only times I've seen someone post in response to something like this was to try to give more explanation of Wikipedia policy so incoming editors would be able to make better policy based arguments. I've opened up a sockpuppet investigation. What this means is that there is going to be a check done to see if you and a few other accounts are related to the account User:OnlineGamesExpert, meaning either a WP:SOCKPUPPET or a WP:MEATPUPPET. The names sound cutesy, but their meanings are basically as follows: a sockpuppet is an account (or multiple accounts) opened by one person in an attempt to seem like they are several people. A "meatpuppet" is essentially someone that was asked to create an account to support someone's argument on an article. Now the thing about being "meatpuppet" (I really wish there was a better term for this) is that this is basically applied to people who were asked to come in to argue a viewpoint but did not state this up front and is not arguing based on policy. What your relation is to the game is still in question but I do see where you are trying to make policy based arguments, so this is a plus in your favor. However it doesn't help that an editor asked you a direct question about whether or not you have a COI and you essentially refused to answer, which doesn't help matters any. That's pretty much one of the biggest reasons why I added your name to the SPI. If you had answered the question clearly then I wouldn't have added you regardless of whether or not you had a COI or not. I'll post a link to the SPI in a moment. Reply - Hi (｡◕‿◕｡) My relation to the game is that I'm a Chat Master for it's chat function and I play the game. I wasn't asked to create an account to argue this point I was asked to go and fix it up as the person that created it did a pretty poor job. When I went to the page to edit it I saw the Delete Nomination at which point I weighed in. I didn't think I needed to state my direct relation to the game, but after reading your explanation I understand why this might have been of importance.

I would like to apologize for my role in the back and forth of it all, but I do stand by my opinion. I believe that this game is getting railroaded when it has a legitimate reason to be added to English Wikipedia. When looking at some other games, as the much more aggressive/unprofessional user added under me, it seems your editors aren't as strict.

Either way, I understand that, as it is the page is lacking, but I hope the page gets a weak keep at the very least so that I have an opportunity to edit it and get it up to snuff.
