- Hi @Kmbarbera:! I moved the page you were working on to here -- will try to go over it and see if I can help in any way. Let me know if you have any specific questions! -- BrillLyle (talk) 16:47, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks @BrillLyle:! Any advice on getting others to review the page? Or how to publish it? I am unsure of what steps to take next. Kmbarbera (talk) 17:00, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @Kmbarbera:! I went ahead and added an infobox and have did a bit of editing on the entry. I then used the "Move" button that's in one of the tabs at the top of the page to move the entry onto the mainspace (out of your sandbox). Now we hold our breath and hope that notability (ridiculous I know especially for someone like Foy) isn't challenged. I will try to add a few more links and possibly details to the entry to try to beef it up and head off any questions. I would like the article to have at least 10 citations that are really solid, so if you want to add supporting citations to existing info that would be great. This is a great job you've done. Very well done! I've enjoyed learning more about this important woman in experimental film! Best to you -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 12:00, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- To answer your question a bit better, once editathons are over it's a bit harder to get others to look at the page, but new pages usually get looked at -- at least a little bit. We want to "gently" ease the page onto the Wikipedia once it's pretty solid (which it is now) in hopes that we have done enough to not have it challenged. I'll keep an eye on it and if I can ask any other friendly editors for their eyes on it I will. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 12:03, 28 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, @BrillLyle:! The page looks fantastic. Thanks also for your help with moving it to the "live" Wiki space! I just have one last question. Do you have any advice for adding images? I would love to include a picture of Sally Dixon, but I've been looking up the Wiki image rules and I'm finding them a little confusing. If I get permission from the photographer, does that mean I can use it? I appreciate all of your help! Kmbarbera (talk) 16:27, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @Kmbarbera:! Uploading images can be a bit difficult. I have found that the graphic on this page is the most clear and helpful guide for what you can and can't do re: uploading images to Commons for use on all the projects, including Wikipedia. See graphic on right side of page here: Commons:Licensing. Basically you have to be able to prove that your image has the correct Creative Commons license that is shareable and reusable. If your friend will allow the image to be uploaded to Flickr, and then selects the right license, you can upload the image to Commons. If your friend wants to upload directly to Commons and says they own the picture but are allowing reuse, that will work too.... Hope this is helpful. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 17:57, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
