Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Kjohn610, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

License tagging for File:Snake, Tanilla oolitica.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Snake, Tanilla oolitica.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:31, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Adding images

[edit]

It looks like the image you uploaded does not have complete information, such as a working url indicating the source of the image and an appropriate copyright license tag. It is important that all images uploaded to Wikipedia are public domain, have an appropriate copyright license, or a fair use justification. See the training module Contributing Images and Media Files for more information and please let me know if you have any questions. Rob (Wiki Ed) (talk) 03:41, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone have an image of Tanilla oolitica that I can rightfully use? Kjohn610 (talk) 19:20, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The first place to check is Wikimedia Commons, where you can find millions of images that are searchable, categorized, and ready to use on Wikipedia immediately. If what you are looking for isn't there, you might be able to find a usable image elsewhere and add it to Wikimedia Commons yourself. The Finding images tutorial will show you how to get started.
