SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.

P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 19:16, 26 August 2006 (UTC) I've added the "prod" template to the article Kidsreads.com, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Kidsreads.com. If you remove the dated prod template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.Bradcis 22:36, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You asked what was up before promptly recreating this article. The article was previously deleted: see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cesidian Root for the discussion as to why it was deleted. Read this. Also, there's been no discussion as for a deletion review - making the article a candidate for speedy deletion. Again, before asking why, look at the deletion discussion I linked to. --Dennis The TIger 17:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

September Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
 • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
 • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
 • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
 • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
 • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!

RfA thanks

[edit]
Hi Kitia, and thanks for your participation at the recent RfA, which did not succeed. For those of you who expressed their support, your kind words and your trust are sincerely appreciated. For those who were opposed --especially those who offered their constructive criticism-- please accept this message as assurance that equally sincere efforts, aimed at enhancing the quality and accuracy of representations within the Wikipedia, will continue. Striving for improved collaboration and consensus will also continue, with all of your insights in mind, while applying NPOV ideals as fairly and reasonably as possible. Akron Wiki

[edit]

Kitia,

Earlier this year (July) you and I had a bit of a run in on the issue of an 'Akroness' entry in Wikipedia. I really appreciated your input on the matter and was greatful towards your understanding of what happened. After this happened, the Akron online community then responsible for the virtual thorn in a lot of Wikipedian's sides decided to take matters into their own hands and create an Akron wiki. This wiki was hosted outside of Wikipedia's realm but quickly grew from absolutely nothing to a growing local internet resource for Akron, OH. There are several regular contributors and it has been given exposure in some of Cleveland's largest online publications as well as Akron's only newspaper.

I wrote an entry for wikipedia on this development and I truly believe this wiki is and shall exponentially become a huge resource for the people of Akron, OH. I tried my best on writing my entry and modeled it off of another entry I found here that was several years old. Alas, my entry was removed and I'm not entirely sure how to progress from this point. I would like your help and guidance in this measure and would like to create a wikipedia entry that is as valuable to casual searchers of the internet as the Akron wiki is to casual searchers for Akron, Ohio information.

Would you be willing to help me at all? Thank you! --Cpfa eljefe 22:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you start the Akron Wiki article, I will gladly defend it, and will add as much as I can to it, as long as you state one newspaper that cites it. I will help in any way I can. Kitia 23:27, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I'm not a girl! And I'll be the first to kick you outta a tree to wolves!

I agree with your edition of Ida Elizabeth Stover to Wikipedia and think that it is a useful addition to the resources of Wikipedia. She is a very relevant person. Keep up the good work that you have been doing... Stevenmitchell 03:08, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know, I got rid of the mention of spoilers (among other things, but I forgot to mention the spoilers in the edit summary) because you didn't talk about anything in the plot summary that would spoil the ending. That's what spoilers are used for, basically. If you have any more questions feel free to leave me a message on my talkpage. -FateSmiled&DestinyLaughed 14:03, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted page "GahooYoogle"

[edit]

A page you created, or image you uploaded, GahooYoogle, has been deleted in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets the one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Unremarkable people, groups, companies and web content. An article about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable notability guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content; it will be deleted again and may be protected from re-creation. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article. If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. Thank you – Gurch 18:49, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kitia wrote:

You think I'm a newbie don't you? I specified its importance and it even has an article in another language. Many well respected contributors (and I'm one of them, being around since June) have edited that artice. Just google GahooYoogle. Please recreate it. It does meet those criteria. Kitia 18:53, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, I don't think you're a newbie. It's a standard message. Your article concerned a website, but made no assertion of importance or significance. This is, as I'm sure your aware, a criterion for speedy deletion.

The full text of the most substantial version of the article was as follows:

GahooYoogle is a search engine which shows, on one side, what the specific result looks like on Google Search and the other shows what it looks like on Yahoo! Search.

Like Google and Yahoo!, GahooYoogle shows other results than web crawling, such as
*Images
*Videos
*News
*Shopping
*Directory
*Answers

In addition, GahooYoogle has this little poem to help remember the name:
Write Yahoo then Google
Make the Y and G Toggle
Never forget GahooYoogle

External links
* GahooYoogle

website-stub

The article describes what the website is, links to it, has a picture of its logo, a stub tag and a nice poem. I see no assertion of notability, importance or significance. Nor do I see anything in the deletion policy that suggests the calibre of contributor to an article has anything to do with whether it should be kept. Googling GahooYoogle returns results, yes; but that's not in itself a valid assertion of notability. I can Google for my name and get relevant results; that doesn't mean I'm notable – Gurch 19:13, 3 December 2006 (UTC) OK, but I'll be on the lookout for its notability, which I know it has. Kitia 19:20, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kitia,

I noticed you recently created the article about Maria Rowohlt. I just wanted to let you know that you can announce any new Germany-related articles at Portal:Germany/New article announcements and Portal:Germany/New articles. That way other users interested in the topic can see them and might improve them.

You may also be interested in the WikiProject Germany.

Thanks,

Thanks. I Occasionally translate articles from German. Kitia 20:53, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please help!

[edit]

I feel that I am being unfairly treated by User: SteveBaker, who appears to have been rejecting my articles on novels for the simple reason that one of them did not appear to meet Wikipedia's guidelines. I feel that several of the others do meet the guidelines, and indeed, at least two of their authors have got articles about them, in which the books are listed. Furthermore, I have provided ample sources for the articles, which out to be sufficient to establish their importance. Therefore, I would be grateful if yourself or another editor could review them for me. I am weary of reposting them in case Mr Baker takes it upon himself to try blocking me. 217.43.199.206 00:27, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again.

I am now looking forward to joining Wikipedia, and will be in touch with you to give you my user name.

Concordia Newsletter

[edit]

NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now!

[edit]
 • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
 • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
 • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
 • Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
 • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making

[edit]

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

Kingdom of Talossa

[edit]

I know you had worked on a Kingdom of Talossa article for a long time. You may be interested to know that someone has recreated Talossa. It needs to be fleshed out a lot, and I imagine someone will propose deletion any moment now. PubliusFL 00:39, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kitia, you reverted my change to the Kingdom's number of claimed citizens in the Talossa article. Please see the Kingdom of Talossa's official website, which is linked from your own article. Their list of citizens has 90 individuals - that doesn't include any of the people who left to form the Republic. Where do you get the number 11 from, when you say the Kingdom only claims 11 citizens? PubliusFL 18:32, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When you create stub articles such as Houma, Shanxi, please try to find the appropriate specific stub tag(s) on the page WP:STUBS. This saves other editors work in categorizing the page, and makes it easier for editors with experise in the subject to find pages that need work.
