Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Hello, North of the Zambezi,

You tagged this article for deletion SECONDS after it was created. This is not done. You can't tag an article for deletion right after its creation, while the content creator is still working on it. And you only have 96 edits, you do not have enough editing experience to judge what articles should be deleted. Please stop patrolling articles and work on improving your editing skills, writing some articles or at least improving them rather than passing judgment on the work of other editors. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 07:19, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looking over your contributions for the past two days, this is clearly not your first account. What were the previous account(s) that you used before this one? Please mention them on your User page before you get associated with a sockpuppet master. Liz Read! Talk! 07:28, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And then you tagged NoBull for deletion ONE MINUTE after it was created. If this behavior continues after this block is over, you can expect an indefinite block for a lack of competence. You are doing more damage than helping the project. Stop patrolling other editor's articles. Liz Read! Talk! 06:20, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Liz Noted. I will slow down with the NPPing. LuGusDeclanBibaElodieBarnaby 06:23, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Having a conflict of interest is not prohibited

[edit]

Hi LuGusDeclanBibaElodieBarnaby, regarding the edit summary of Special:Diff/1158568711 and the edits around the Nadine George-Graves article, please do check the guideline again to see if it actually contains a prohibition on conflict of interest editing. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:25, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for low-quality patrolling. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:36, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I promise to take a break from NPP and focus on reverting vandalism. LuGusDeclanBibaElodieBarnaby 22:36, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Indiscriminately reverting edits isn't much better than indiscriminately applying speedy tags. I think you need to slow down and perhaps try adding substantial content to articles instead of policing others' edits. Spicy (talk) 22:40, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I promise to slow down, maybe try writing a draft or two. LuGusDeclanBibaElodieBarnaby 22:42, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Kinda in keeping with the below, I think it's best to let the block expire. 331dot (talk) 08:18, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an entire new article isn't a recommended task for beginners either, as they're unlikely to find a topic meeting the notability criteria that Wikipedia doesn't yet have an article about.
Expanding existing articles or fixing their spelling would be fine. After the 72 hours, that is, to ensure that "slowing down" isn't an empty promise. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 22:48, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ToBeFree Good idea. LuGusDeclanBibaElodieBarnaby 22:51, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
