Komlos references

[edit]

Hi Kinkordada. I see you've added citations to articles by John Komlos to several Wikipedia articles recently (Domestic policy of the Ronald Reagan administration, Supply-side economics and Trumpism). While I think you're right that, at least in the first two cases, these are useful additions to the articles in question, we do sometimes see people citing their own work in Wikipedia articles in order to promote that work. As such, I was wondering if you could clarify whether you are, work with or for, or have any other connection to, John Komlos. If not—if, for example, you're just an enthusiastic reader of his work—then feel free to ignore this message. If you do have a connection to Komlos, you should read WP:SELFCITE and the WP:COI guideline of which it's part. While editors are free to add citations to their own work, it's preferable to begin a discussion at the article talk page first to gauge other editors' views, especially if multiple citations are added. I hope that's all reasonably clear—let me know here or at my talk page if you have any questions. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 17:00, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Arms & Hearts, Thank you for your beautiful message. I would like to clarify that, I am not connected with John Comlos. I am just an enthusiastic reader. I was doing my own research work and thought that the articles may be are good use for the readers. I will do as you have said in the future. Many many thanks for letting me know. Thanks for your reply and for clarifying that. Enthusiastic readers who want to share knowledge are of course always welcome. If you don't have any connection to the subject there's no need for you to necessarily begin talk page discussions before adding content (you can just be bold), though it can still be worthwhile if you're unsure whether the addition is a useful one. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 18:08, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
