[edit]Saw your comment to Tangerines. As I said in his page, I am all for it. Let me know how can I help. Keep up the good work. -- Alexf(t/c) 22:34, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Your preliminary work on WPAF looks very good so far. You said: Players and managers that are Argentine, or have played for an Argentine club. Let's make sure then that the not-include section says no foreign (non-Argentinian) players playing in Argentina (unless nationalized, that is). What do you think? -- Alexf(t/c) 23:44, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, great preliminary work. Do you want us to add our names at this stage as participants or wait until it "goes live"? With the tagging, I have added a few tags, but I only know relatively little about them unfortunately. Will have a look around on other projects. Keep up the good work! ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 03:22, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Created Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs/Templates/Argentina adding missing link to the bottom of Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Clubs/Templates and created missing Banfield squad template. Please check accuracy. -- Alexf(t/c) 20:34, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Banfiedl squad was my fist Template. I guess did nopt come out so bad after all. As per your question, I do not know much about bots. I am a software developer butI do not work on the languages used for bots, nor do I have the inner WP knowledge to make a bot work. Why do you need a bot? -- Alexf(t/c) 22:55, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Is a project tag template still needed? Also a proect userbox? ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:10, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Is this ok for a userbox? Template:User WikiProject Argentine football They can in themselves help get new members in some small way. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 22:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
I have added the userbox, but have also managed somehow to mess up the heading for the section following it, would you fix it please (apologies!)? ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 23:07, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I'm happy to help ensure that the assessments go through OK, though I should suggest rather than a child Wikiproject, we use an Argentine task force, as this is the way we've been going on WP:Football recently. I'll take a look in the morning (when I'm sober!) Paulbrock 23:23, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

WAF/New Articles
[edit]Is it worth it to separate entries into Wikipedia:Wikiproject Argentine football/New articles by date? I think it would be better not to group them but keep a list with a request to put new entries on top as in Wikipedia:Argentina-related regional notice board. -- Alexf(t/c) 12:36, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Argentine football
[edit]Hi, I've seen you recently created a WikiProject about football in Argentina. I would suggest you to make it become a taskforce rather than a standalone WikiProject. Differently than a WikiProject, a taskforce is strictly associated to a parent WikiProject (WP:WPF, in this case) thus minimizing bureucratic activities typical than a separate project, and are more likely to become deserted in the future (I know that by my personal experience in the former Italian Football WikiProject, which I contributed to turn into taskforce). There is currently a trend to switch existing football-related WikiProjects into taskforces. If you need more info about taskforces, consider having a reading at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide/Task forces. Feel free to contact either me or the other WikiProject Football guys in case you need some kind of help. --Angelo 23:27, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Assessement
[edit]Hi yes I had tried to base them all on the guidelines here and was adding "Mid" based on this: "Players or managers that have participated at international level or in a top-level league. Mid-level leagues." I have put some as low, and some, like Riquelme as High! I will try to keep them as you say though! ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 00:08, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi would you have a look at this article? The article states that they are from San Justo, Santa Fe which appears to be in Sante Fe province. Yet it states that their stadium is in San Justo Beunos Aires province? It has to be one or the other surely? ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 02:51, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Huracán
[edit]Slowly, as time permits, I am creating stubs for missing Huracán's players. Thanks for tidying up afterwards. I noticed you found some place of birth info. I based the starting stub on Huracán's team site where that info is missing (as is height). Where do you get this info for new, mostly unknown players? I'll try to get more info at the start point, if possiblet. Thx. -- Alexf(t/c) 12:50, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Will do. This also answers the previous section. Thanks. -- Alexf(t/c) 12:57, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Estudiantes de La Plata squad template
[edit]Hi. I see you invest a lot of effort to keep Argie footy players up to date. Now how about the squad templates? I would just delete them all, they're a nuisance to me. But given the current situation, who is supposed to maintain them? It hurts my eyes to see that the current squad of Estudiantes de La Plata (main article) is up to date but the squad template is not. elpincha 11:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- I see it's been done... thanks elpincha 11:19, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome back. Hope sun and fun was good for you.
I had changed the River template a few days back adding Archubi, and posting a link, to be ruled out with a link indicating Olimpiacos: Ole.Clarín so I did not contest it. Take a look. -- Alexf(t/c) 14:27, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Re:Cordial invitation
[edit]I would be very glad to join WikiProject Argentine football. I was actually thinking of asking to join even before your invitation. The problem is that I don't understand much Spanish, so I was wondering if you new of were to find English news on Argentine football? As for WikiProject Argentine football I was thinking of going through the squad lists and updating the squad templates. Best regards, Sebisthlm 19:56, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Re:Hi
[edit]Thanks a lot for the invitation - I'm more than happy to join in! I'm still quite new to this whole editing part of Wikipedia, but I hope to be able to contribute more soon. My most recent "private project" has been finding all the Argentinian players in Europe (UEFA), and it's been very time consuming. And now my wife calls me a nerd. Oh well. I'd also like to thank you for your contributions to Argentine football here, well done. Regards, Kjelle79 10:04, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Railway Station Photographs - Richmond Branch
[edit]Hi,
A few (four) of your uploaded images caught my eye and I would like to use them in an audiovisual presentation for the newly restored Richmond Station visitor centre. I noticed the copyright-free template you placed on each and as such I've already put the images into the presentation draft. Centre opens early November.
I would like to acknowledge you in the credits. How would you like to be credited?
Thanks for your fantastic photography work - it has been really helpful.

- Done. I also added a standard NPOV warning in his page. Please always remember to warn them, so they know, and other editors also know and can escalate warning levels if needed. Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 16:02, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Re: Richmond Photos
[edit]Hi again,
Yes, I will be using the photographs you have provided, but it will not be for an internet-based presentation. I am working on a short presentation to be played on a screen in the upcoming visitor centre at Richmond station.
I would appreciate any extra photographs you could provide of the branch line, and will be sure to fully credit you. I would prefer to credit you as King of the North East but it's not my decision. However, I will mention your pages on Wikipedia in the credits.
I think it's worth mentioning that the majority of people that I'm working for are rail enthusiasts and collectors, and are devoted to the station and its branch line.
Thanks again for your help. MildManOfR&R 20:39, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Re: Argentine footballers
[edit]Sure thing, I'll try to remember! Will start slowly to add profiles to more and more foreign-based Argentine footballers. I just have to learn more about using templates etc, so I do things properly from now on. Regards - Kjelle79 10:51, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- Now I see what you mean - and I'll do my best. My problem is that I haven't really spent enough time learning how to use (and find) templates etc in order to do proper editing of articles. By the way, I've got a good list of Argentine footballers playing outside of Argentina, but I have no idea how to create a category. Feel free to give me more advice and hints :) Have a good evening! - Kjelle79 19:45, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Casi Gallina...pero soy del Globo
[edit]- One of the greatest frustrations my father has faced (and he continues to face) in his life is that his son is a turncoat Gallina!. When I was 12, I became a fan of...Huracán, after my Grandma (her brothers were fans of Huracán of Mar del Plata). However, I was very happy last Sunday, so there is still some sympathy for the Millo in my heart ;).
- The bichitos have style, Argentinos was incredibly prolific in producing good players, besides Diego (I'am a living witness of his first two goals in the league). I remember Riquelme, Sorín, Pavoni, Ereros, "Checho" Batista, "El colo" Domenech...an endless list. Thank you for inviting me to the project, I promise to join it as soon as possible. Good look and thank you again. Dario 10:42, 9 October 2007 (CEST)

thoughtful comments on CFD
[edit]Thank you for your thoughtful comments about Category:Physician astronauts which is being considered for deletion. Finding people to add to the category wasn't easy because there is no complete list that I know of on the internet. So even if the category is deleted, I'll save a list for my own use. Keeping the category would save others the work of looking it up later. Archtransit 17:33, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
London Broncos/Harlequins Rugby League
[edit]I apologise if I'm incorrect but it appears that you have merged these two catergories together. Whilst Harlequins RL is a rebranding of London Broncos the section now sees multiple players as playing for Harlequins Rugby League at some point, many of these have not done. [edit]I just made a systematic restoration of all pictures removed by User:Yamla and probably missed that one, in any case I restored it right now. About the particular issue, I completely agree with you: Soprani has proved to be a good content editor, and deleting all of the images, templates and articles he worked on proved to be a vandal-like thing; however, I assume good faith in this particular case. Bye. --Angelo 18:53, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

I accepted your invitation and I´ve joined to the project. Thanks for your attention. I´ll apreciate... ¿Are you from Argentina? I saw that you make good editions in the spanish wikipedia too.

- Jaja... But we have to say that the english invented the football: the most beautiful thing created ever (after women, ovbiously... jajaja). The relegation table is a problem, but i think that Central and the other cities club (i don´t mention them... cause they are LOS INNOMBRABLES jaja) are two big teams, with a lot of history, and a huge crowd of people that support them. Next year will be better i think. Above all, in Central. Next Sunday we have de elections for president in the club. After that, things will be better. I´m sure.
- Thank you very much, and we will see in this wiki too. --Ultracanalla 23:11, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah its ok now I don't know how that happened!! Perhaps you have been hanging out with my Number 2 ParrotCajones!!. On a more serious note, I am not aware of the dits of this particular user although I vaguely remember seeing his name in the past. Is there a clear reason for his block? Has he requested to be unblocked? I should take it to the incidents desk and ask if t can be cleared up. I often get the impression users which have clear contrcutive potential are sometimes blocked unfairly. Anyway thanks for your support last week during that difficult time. Argentine Railways
[edit]Hi, Thanks very much for your encouraging comments about my articles on Argentine railway companies. I've still a number of companies to cover and when articles on these are complete I will certainly try to put together an article covering the history of railways in Argentina, as you suggest. It's a big task and several of my articles are not much more than stubs at present. In time I plan to fill these out with more details and maps etc.
I have read with interest a number of your articles about Argentine football clubs and the connection between a number of these clubs and old railway companies is an interesting one. You may have noticed that I have made a number of small edits to fix or create links to articles on the railway company with which a particular club is connected. Veron's immediate future
[edit]Hi King, and thanks for dropping by my talk page.
It is possible that Veron will indeed sign for DC United during the coming weeks, as they seemingly have made him an offer he cannot refuse (rumours say well over $10m). But since the situation with coach Simeone is kind of complex and delicate, nobody is making any announcements just yet. Estudiantes fans are anxious with expectations, and I have changed the home page of pincharrata.com to reflect that feeling ("quien me quita lo bailado", lit. "they won't take away what I've danced", as in: OK, even if the worst comes to pass and the team is disbanded, we did win the championship, we did win 7-0...)
I'd rather leave Veron's affiliation at Estudiantes until a transfer is formally announced. Here's hoping that day never comes... elpincha (talk) 09:18, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
Expired Argentine images
[edit]Hi. I just found out that images older than 20 years in Argentina are public domain. Did you know this? This means most of my Argentine cinema articles which have a fair use rationale written in is not needed - they can be uploaded to the commons I think. I'm asking Videmus to look into it but this would mean we can quite easily upload images of all the past Argentine footabllers also even those who are living if the image is over 20 years old. Did you know this. See {PD-AR-photo} ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:30, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes congrats for your work on Argentine footballers - one of the things i noticed that was missing was images for the older players hopefully now we can get some for all. I did google image a few earlier but like with certain Argentine actors often I can't seem to find any. yes there doesn't appear much support for our organized sub projects does there which is surprising for Argentine football I thought there would be at least one three of four active with it. Keep it ip anyway. I'm currently debating whether to split the Argentine lists by year like Hong Kong ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:24, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
