Recreating Bounce Children's Foundation page
[edit]Hello, I am aware that a page that was previously created has been deleted, but I am a new account that wants to create Bounce Children's Foundation page for fun. How do I go about creating a new page that has been previously deleted? The content is similar but improved to fit the Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smileychild55 (talk • contribs) 23:00, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
- Wikipedia requires that all article subjects be supported by significant coverage in reliable secondary sources. "Reliable secondary source" means a generally trusted source which is independent of the subject, such as news articles and traditional published books. Examples of sources which don't count include the organization's website, any blogs, social media, and press releases or interviews even if printed in an otherwise reliable newspaper. "Significant coverage" means that there must be significant prose written about your organization's website in the article, not just a mere listing. For example, Charity Navigator lists practically every charity in the nation and therefore does not qualify as a source. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 23:32, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
RE: Q14
[edit]hello, I would like to request that you reinstate question 14. This is a fantastic opportunity to gauge the real world decision making of candidate CaptainEek with regards to an actual problematic article. This is one of the most interesting controversies in the modern martial arts community, and I think it is worth looking at. The article itself is mostly composed of dead reference links to Mr. Rao's own websites. Many of the claims are provably false, and he is being investigated by several different organizations regarding his false claims (e.g. medical degree from Yale, law degree, BJJ blackbelt from a nonexistent school, suspicious JKD rank that only existed after the person who allegedly gave it to him was already dead, etc). The notability of the subject is also questionable given that from all regards the only one of his claims that appears to be true is that he gained the honorary rank of Major in the Indian Army Reserves. However, there are hundreds if not thousands of actual Majors in the Indian land army - such does not make one a notable figure by itself. Additionally, it appears that Mr. Deepak Rao has been having interested parties edit and create his page for him for advertising purposes. This is unethical and to provide unverified claims as if they were truth on Wikipedia is against the rules for articles on living persons.
Looking forward to your reply. Very respectfully,
BasicsOnly (talk) 01:57, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Fanny Hensel
[edit]You closed the discussion to move Fanny Mendelssohn (her birth name) to Fanny Hensel (her married name, under which she published), not moving, and I'm trying to understand your reasoning. Imagine you'd decide you wanted a different user name, - would you accept people saying that they recognized you better under the familiar old one, and would refuse to use the new one? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:23, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- See Cat Stevens; we don't always accept name changes by the subject. I found good arguments on both sides, and in the absence of a consensus the long-standing title is upheld. Apologies if I gave you the impression that I found a consensus to not move; I've updated my close statement to reflect that. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 13:20, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
- I won't look anywhere else (no time, people die and I can't follow, - on the Main page Gabriel Bacquier), - I asked You about a name change You might want, and how You would react if people said they will still call you Your old. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:53, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
