Abstract Audio Systems
[edit]Hi, I was wondering why the page for my band Abstract Audio Systems was removed. Is there something further you need from me as proof that we really exist? Here are 4 links detailing the band and its releases.

The article was initially created by the members of Austere (band).

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Canon logo.svg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Canon logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:38, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Thomas G. McDonald
[edit]Dear King of Hearts:
I appreciate your concern about the introduction of inappropriate articles. Had I been permitted to complete the article in question, I feel confident that it would have met Wikipedia's standards for notability. Thomas G. McDonald was a close associate of Andrew Carnegie, and was perhaps the first industrialist in northeastern Ohio to employ the well-known Bessemer process.
The article, if completed, would have made use of published sources to confirm this figure's notability. Like other Wikipedians (I'm sure), I am in the habit of composing articles in stages, because of past technical glitches that resulted in the loss of a considerable amount of material.
A warning attached to the article noted that, if I wanted to contest the deletion, I would need to place a tag on the article. I added the tag, but to no avail.
Please know that I will not attempt to post this article again. Thank you. - haeksang 17:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- My intention is not to delete every article in sight. I only deleted Thomas G. McDonald because it didn't assert notability. If you believe that he can qualify under WP:BIO, feel free to re-submit the article, remembering to include accomplishments that make him notable, backed up with references. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 17:32, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
GAs
[edit]Thanks for passing Solar power plants in the Mojave Desert! I'm also submitting Wind power in Texas again as I've overcome the list problem you mentioned. As for Battery (electricity), the lead section still didn't summarize the main points of the article, so I've tried to do so in the text below. See what you think...
- A battery is a device that converts chemical energy directly to electrical energy.[1] It consists of one or more voltaic cells. Because of the chemical reactions within the cells, the capacity of a battery depends on the discharge conditions such as the magnitude of the current, the duration of the current, the allowable terminal voltage of the battery, temperature, and other factors.[2]
- Batteries can be generally divided into two main types: non-rechargeable (disposable) and rechargeable. Each is in wide usage. Rechargeable batteries traditionally self-discharge more rapidly than disposable alkaline batteries; up to three percent a day (depending on temperature). Battery life can be extended by storing the batteries at a low temperature, as in a refrigerator or freezer, because the chemical reactions in the batteries are slower.
- Since their development over 250 years ago, batteries have remained among the most expensive energy sources, and their manufacturing consumes many valuable resources and often involves hazardous chemicals. A battery explosion may occur through the misuse or malfunction of a battery, such as attempting to recharge a non-rechargeable battery,[3] or short circuiting a battery.[4]

Re: Education in Iceland
[edit]I have added a few more references to back things up, unfortunately a lot of info comes from the PDF—is there anything that can be done to pass the GA with the facts relying on this source? Max Naylor 16:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- The problem is simply that you're focusing too much on one source. If a source is wrong (nothing is perfect), then facts in the article that are supported by it are also wrong. If you use a variety of sources, they're less likely to be all wrong. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 20:38, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]My name is Bauceant and I am a decendant of Thomas G. McDonald. I am working with a Professor at Youngstown University in the attempt to get McDonald Village (named after Thomas G. McDonald!) included in the national historic register. If you need additional information on my ggg-grandfather (or would be willing to share the same), please drop me an email. I can be contacted through the website I moderate: TemplarHistory.com. Please PM me there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.102.167.187 (talk) 21:12, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not some "national historic register"; it is an encyclopedia about notable and verifiable topics. Your article on Thomas G. McDonald did not assert his notability, so I deleted it. If you believe you can find information confirming his notability as per WP:BIO, you may re-create the article, inserting relevant facts to assert his notability. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 03:03, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Allah, Army and America
[edit]Hi, You deleted my article with title "Allah, Army and America"..
And gave reason that:
No sources that provide evidence that this concept is sufficiently notable to merit an encyclopedia article
Even though I believe i Have given link to some articles stating about it and even the statement by a major pakistani politician..
And even though I am not a pro on wikipedia but i think: A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
So i am again putting some articles which refers to it..

Daily Times, Pakistan http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2006%5C04%5C10%5Cstory_10-4-2006
guardian, UK
On googling I have found:
Results 1 - 100 of about 755 for "Allah, Army and America" OR "Allah, The Army and America"
I hope it will satisfy you and you will undelete the article.. thanks in advance..

RE:Brands of the World
[edit]Hi, I was wondering on how you converted the EPS's on brands of the world, to SVG's. I have tried using pstoedit (by the way i'm running Ubuntu Linux) but can't seem to get the library for SVGs working. Could you offer me help on how to do this. :-). Thanks in advance. > Rugby471 talk ⚔ 17:41, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Kodak logo 1987.svg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Kodak logo 1987.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 04:28, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
