Ceri Shepherd

[edit]

Hello my name is Anna Bugayova i spent a good few hours yesterday producing a page on my boss Mr Ceri Shepherd which has now been deleted can you please explain why this was done BY YOU !!!!

Anna —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Trendinvestor (talkcontribs) 14:41, November 2, 2006 (UTC)

I've deleted it because the article doesn't assert notability (see WP:BIO) and it reads like an advertisement. -- King of 06:24, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinitely blocked for spam -- thanks!!

He's been a real nuisance. --A. B. 00:34, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter

[edit]
Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Thanks

Thanks for the user page revert. =) -- Gogo Dodo 06:36, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, only 3 reversions. Thanks. Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 05:09, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting Unprotection

[edit]

Note: If this page is protected for longer than a day, please unprotect the page, ask an administrator to do so, or request unprotection here.

If you'd be kind enough. 24.148.66.9 15:50, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The above was relisted for further discussion, as there was only one voice, a delete, in addition to the nom. After relisting there was a further delete. However, I wonder if you noticed it was the anon's only edit, and the tone of it is somewhat dubious. I was unfortunately on a wikibreak during deletion. I have worked on the article and consider it is a very useful one for wiki to have, as the gallery certainly has a reputation in the London arts world. I wonder if you would be prepared to reconsider the closure, as I don't feel a real consensus was achieved here. I realise I can go to Deletion Review of course. Tyrenius 00:32, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've relisted the discussion on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2006 November 13. -- King of 20:46, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for relisting. Unfortunately Whispering has since closed it again as a delete by you. Transition Gallery also needs to be undeleted, so it can be discussed. I will draw the attention Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts to the discussion when it's open, to get some wider responses. Tyrenius 01:39, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfC on RPJ

[edit]

Hi. I'm advocating a case on behalf of a user who is experiencing numerous problems with RPJ. I can see from RPJ's talk page that you have interacted with him in the past. If you have a moment, would you be so kind as to head over to the RfC page and leave any guidance that might help in resolving this dispute. Thanks so much, and have a great day! Notice

[edit]

This is a notice that I have filed a request for arbitration concerning RPJ. Feel free to add any comments you feel are necessary. Ramsquire (throw me a line) 23:54, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:JASpencer has asked for the history of this page, which you deleted as "no context", to be restored at WP:DRV under 'history only undeletion'. The current history is purely redirect. Due to the circumstances I don't want to unilaterally undelete the history, but it may not be worth sending for a full review, so would you consider restoring the history? If not, I'll advise him to try 'decisions to be reviewed'.

To be honest, I don't see the justification for the "no context" deletion, apart from that the article started with "It is" instead of "Conservative Home is", which is a trivial style point. --Sam Blanning(talk) 01:15, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article never really tells what Conservative Home is. It tells who runs it and what critics say about it, but not what it actually is. -- King of 20:44, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Was this done as a speedy deletion? I can't seem to find the Article for deletion discussion? JASpencer 23:38, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it was a speedy deletion per WP:CSD#A1. -- King of 22:00, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just an FYI if you havent read already...

[edit]

See here re San Fran, thanks  Glen  20:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In an effort to reduce some of the debate and edit wars that have occurred around this category, I'd like to propose a CfD renaming of Category:Anti-Semitic people to Category:People who have made or published anti-Semitic statements which is more in keeping with WP:CAT guidelines stating that a category must be 'self evident' and 'uncontroversial'. It is much easier to say that a person made an Antisemitic statement than to say that they are essentially Antisemitic, a designation which is especially problematic for living persons. Since there is currently a CfD debate for the new category, I think having a CfD debate for Anti-Semitic People would allow editors to deal with both categories at the same time.
