SJU Nov 1, 2006 update regarding serving airline issue

[edit]

Hi Kimmykun.

If you noticed I'm new to Wiki editing. I took the information about Avianca and Mexicana serving SJU from their respective Wikipedia articles (I didn't made up that information). You can go to Avianca & Mexicana's Wiki articles and read the info yourself. Moreover this information is preliminary (they say it was at some press conference that they announced the possible routes and I placed the dates). And I know that, currently, both carriers don't serve SJU. I also did my homework, and just as you say, none of the airline's respective official websites have any information about those routes to SJU. As for the Continental connection with Cape Air, I misunderstood the information, since in their website they clearly state that; they have operations in the Caribbean.

If you need anything from me, don't hesitate to ask. -User:djxixa

Hello all, the current update information for SJU is correct, as an employee at SJU, I know all the in's and out's, schedule flights and charters. Con A has gate # assign to them already, the terminal is in its final stage (in latin america/caribbean we built everything slow). The terminal will serve all charters and international flights. Delta or US Airways has not express any intentions of leasing space at Con A, they have all the space they need at Con B. All charters and international flights operate from Con C (Con C&D are the only ones with US Custome & Immigration facilities). Avianca & Aeromexico operates charters to SJU, I have not seen Mexicana in awhile. There are talks of LAN operating SJU-EZE-SCL services on B767 on seasonal basis (still pending). SJU operators want to bring in service from British Airways, but the carrier ;eft SJU years ago due to the competition of UK charters carriers to SJU, as Lufthansa did also for the same reason. Our next door island friends DR is looking to bring in service to PUJ from Asia (Cathay Pacific & Japan Airlines). SJU is looking to see if these airline will streght they tails next door to SJU (Stop over), so many exciting things are going on right now. Stay tuned.

SJU

[edit]

I have seen that after 3 different attempts to update the San Juan Intl' Airport page, you have deleted the information and/or return to a previously created page. You had written that you would re-organize the page and add the information that I had written but in a more umbiased manner, yet a month has passed and I see the SJU page as devoid of information as before. Any information on this? or do you have a certain vendetta against any new information being uploaded into this page? I believe SJU is one of the most important airports in the region, and it deserves a page as complete and informative as any major US airport. Please update on this, I would hate to update the page again just to see it deleted. -User: m_gonzalez

TV Market

[edit]

Hi, I have noticed that in the past you have edited or created a template for a television DMA (market) in North America, or have edited an articles about television stations. Currently their are several different styles of the template being used. Because of this i have set up a workshop to obtain input on setting up a common configuration for these templates. Feel free to assist at Wikipedia:WikiProject Television Stations/markets. Also while you are their, feel free to leave you name as a participant on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Television Stations as well as any comments you might have, to help wikipedia improve articles on television stations. If you know some one else who has helped contribute to these templates or you think would like to help, please pass this mesage on to them. --Boothy443 | trácht ar 22:35, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Insular Television Stations

[edit]

This might be easier for me to explain if i reply in bullet form:

  1. Why do i link the templates together?

- I find it to be a bit easier for navigation if templates in the same region are at least linked together. the Federated States of Micronesia and Palau are in Free Association with the USA, therfore, they are included, despite being de-facto independent.

  1. Why is UKVI (British Virgin Islands) given a template?

- I doubt it would be fair for the people who live there to not have a template. As well, a LOT of people go there as a tourist resort (same for Aruba, bahamas, and so on).

Those are my reasons, but if you wish to nominate both for deletion, or move them to British Virgin Islands and FS of Micronesia instead, that's fine with me.

Are the television stations as listed in this paragraph below on the air yet, ore is TV Radio World wrong/misreporting/misinformed?

Re: USVI_TV

[edit]

Thank you for clarifying!

Would it be acceptable for me to split the USVI topic into two parts, one for Charlotte Amalie's stations, and the other for Christiansted/St. Croix's? (I mean much how it is split already with stations from PR and its own stations.)

Should i even merge UKVI_TV with USVI_TV as well?

Will WBNB ever come back on the air? Raccoon Fox 01:09, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orlando

[edit]

We should probably do something uniform for all the TV station templates, then. I noticed that the "see also"s were added to the Miami and West Palm markets, which made me add it to Tampa and Orlando. We should clear them all out or add them all back. Should there be a discussion opened at the WikiProject for TV Stations? Mike H. That's hot 02:10, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

M_GONZALEZ: ON SJU; Sorry... It appears you corrected an older version before I uploaded my changes, so my changes were deleted. I will take some time to fix the page, go ahead and correct my grammar afterwards. If you see any fact that needs verification or citation let me know. Most of what I added on the SJU page is from local and personal knowledge and hard to verify, but the truth is that the page looks very unprofessional. I hate seeing the disasters list BEFORE the airport's facts. It's important to see the disasters, but not more important than the airport's construction. Again, I apologize.

Orphaned non-free image (Image:WAPA-TV.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WAPA-TV.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:25, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:WCCV-TV.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:WCCV-TV.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:48, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:WSJX-LP.gif

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:WSJX-LP.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:19, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:WEON-LP.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:WEON-LP.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:TelemundoPR.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TelemundoPR.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Puerto Rican TV infoboxes

[edit]

I'm just improving the infoboxes to the standard of those on the mainland. What's wrong with that? New World Man (talk) 23:40, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing wrong with improving the infoboxes, but there is such a thing as too much information. I'm simply removing what I consider bloat. Including satellite stations just make the infoboxes very large. How about adding the satellite information on tables in the article itself like in WAPA-TV? Kimmykun (talk) 23:52, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's pretty awkward if there is only one full-powered satellite station and its information is listed in a separate table. I usually only do that with stations with two or more full-power satellites. And I got the dates for the WAPA satellite stations from the Broadcasting and Cable Yearbook and the Television and Cable Factbook, two generally reliable sources. The dates you gave are the dates they received their licenses, which are generally given several months to two years after the actual sign-on. New World Man (talk) 00:01, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WSTE

[edit]

I just found out that the four "booster" stations have listings in the FCC TV database, so maybe I should do a table of the five stations (the main licensed facility, plus all four "boosters"), with ERP, HAAT and coords for all five, in the "Transmitter facilities" section of the article. New World Man (talk) 01:27, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Full-power relay stations

[edit]

Seriously, where else am I gonna put the vital info on these stations? Look at, for example, the infoboxes for KDVR, KHBS, KUAT-TV, WFSU-TV, WHYY-TV, and WTTO, all of which have one full-power relay station each.

Also, since you're into Puerto Rican TV, do you speak Spanish? If you do, it would make sense to translate the Puerto Rican TV station articles into Spanish for the Spanish Wikipedia.

# 2 in mayaguez

[edit]

Hi I am from mayaguez and I havnt seen any signs indicating that the # 2 is the Avenida Hostos, thou a quick google search seems to prove you right. But in any case it is not throu all of Mayaguez, at a part of it from Mayaguez Terrase neighborhood to the mayaguez northern municipal border it is now named the Carretera Miguel Angel García Méndez, as can be seen here [[1]] and in signs indicating it at that point. You have given me couriosity about the subject and next time I am in the city I will be on the lok out for road signs.

The article Plaza del Oeste has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No notability, no sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited WSJP-LD, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ABC. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:2015 WOLE-TV logo.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:2015 WOLE-TV logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
