Dir En Grey
[edit]It doesn't matter that the correct name is "Dir en grey". The name HAS to be written on Wikipedia as "Dir En Grey" because of MOS:TM, which states that stylizations of names have to be dropped and normal English stylizations of punctuation should be used. Same goes for "FIREWALL DIV". It needs to be written as "Firewall Div". Lastly, there can only be one website in the infobox, and that needs to be the primary official website of the band. mx3 話 22:58, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
I don't care, and we (their fans) doesn't care about Wikipedia English Standard-rule, because there haven't been any problem on the other language Wikipedia sites with their name. Their name is Dir en grey and should only be written that way. MusicBrainz is pretty prissy about English Standard casing as well, but they have typset them as Dir en grey on their page [1], Their Facebook [2] is officially Dir en grey. Why do you want incorrect information on Wikipedia? Dir en grey is still not an English/American band and shouldn't be threaded as one with the English Standard-casing. Same with their albums and singles. Latest album is officially typeset as UROBOROS (Yes, both in Japan, in Europe, in UK, and in North America), and why is it incorrectly "Uroboros" here?.
Give me more of your arguments, I have plenty of mine, but let's hear your other arguments, that rule you linked me too can't be the only one?
- ^ Dir en grey on MusicBrainz, Musicbrainz.
- ^ Dir en grey on Facebook, Facebook.
Why do you think it's OK for the Swedish band bob hund to be typeset as bob hund on the English Wikipedia-site but not Dir en grey? Your aguments is not good enough. Change it back to Dir en grey now.

- I don't want incorrect information on Wikipedia. I was the one that wrote that their name is stylized as "Dir en grey" in the lead of the article. But since we can't seem to agree, how about this: Earlier this year I submitted a move request to have the article moved from Dir en grey to Dir En Grey and others agreed with me, so it was moved. If you'd like to, you can make a move request to have the page moved back to Dir en grey. If you can manage to convince other editors to agree with you and establish a consensus to have the page moved, then we can use "Dir en grey" universally again. But if not, then the name stays put at "Dir en grey". Sounds good? For information on making move requests, see Wikipedia:Requested moves. As for bob hund, it's that way because no one has bothered yet to change it. Maybe I'll do that later; it seems that this has already been done on the French and Finnish Wikipedias for this band. mx3 話 23:39, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- No, I want Dir en grey on everything. Dir En Grey → Dir en grey and their name should be Dir en grey on their whole Wikipedia-text. If you really don't want incorrect information, I don't even understood why you switched their name back to Dir En Grey when I edited to the correct mode. And why should you decide whether they're Dir en grey or not, you're not god, and if you're an administrator on Wikipedia you shouldn't be so rude and decline every little change you don't agree on when proof and explanation is being included in the change. And regarding bob hund their name is lowercased because they are an Swedish band, and they are not affected of the "English Standard"-thing, same goes with Dir en grey because there an play on words. I'll do the move request and believe me, I'll succeed because I have plenty of arguments. I also don't understand why their albums and singles is incorrectly typeset with American Standard, their latest single for example should be Hageshisa to, kono mune no naka de shakunetsu no yami and not big letter in every word because it's Romaji and not English. All other languages' Wikipedia profiles doesn't have a problem with that.
- My successful move request showed that there was consensus to have the name be "Dir En Grey", so that's what I follow when I revert edits that try to change it back to "Dir en grey". Concerning romaji, MOS:JP dictates that. And what do you mean that Dir en grey is a play on words? Do you have a source for that? How does that mean that it should be lowercased anyway? mx3 話 00:22, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
