Emerchantpay being deleted

[edit]

(copy of a response on the talk page) Well, the page was there all weekend, but that's because nobody noticed it. I wouldn't quite say it was "approved" per se. Please see Wikipedia's guidelines on notability. If you feel this company is notable enough to warrant inclusion on Wikipedia, please provide 3rd party reliable sources showing that the media has covered this company, etc. Thanks! --Jaysweet (talk) 16:51, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Emerchantpay

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Emerchantpay requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. AfD nomination of AdultMerchantPay

[edit]

I have nominated AdultMerchantPay, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/AdultMerchantPay. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Speedy deletion of AdultmerchantPay

[edit]

A tag has been placed on AdultmerchantPay, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

March 2008

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with AdultmerchantPay. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Jaysweet (talk) 14:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jaysweet (talk) 15:08, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to E-Payment Providers. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Jaysweet (talk) 15:33, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you use Wikipedia for advertising, as you did with Emerchantpay, you will be blocked from editing. Toddst1 (talk) 15:37, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary Request

[edit]

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Speedy deletion of Emerchantpay

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Emerchantpay, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AdultmerchantPay_logo.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AdultmerchantPay_logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 08:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is always possible I am incorrect about Emerchantpay. Sometimes it is hard to tell what is notable and what isn't. I am still skeptical, though (a press release is not usually considered a reliable source, because anybody can say anything they want in a press release). If you feel it is notable enough for inclusion, you can make your case here. Thanks! --Jaysweet (talk) 14:17, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
