Layout - Answer?

Hi Kevin,

I think I have finally reached a compromised situation. Please take a look at the Belgium article, years 2002 and 2003. In my display (1200x1024) it shows one coin next to the other, in IE, FF and Opera. When I resize or change the resolution to 1024x768, the coins go one on top of the other, allowing you to put more descriptions. What do you think? If you agree with this layout I will try to apply it to all articles.

Miguel.mateo (talk) 04:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

I do think that so far this is the best compromise but the fact that it displays differently for different users still makes me feel uneasy (its the main reason I dislike using percentages on a cell when there is fixed size content in the table). When you where trying out different layouts I noticed one of your test could solve all the problems. you put the images next to one another but instead of the images spanning the four rows it spans three.

I won't have the net for the next 3 days so I apologize in advance if I don't respond. When I am back online on Friday we will try work out this layout issue promptly.Kevin hipwell (talk) 13:00, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Maybe the images spanning on three rows is a good solution, let's work that out. Miguel.mateo (talk) 14:13, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good.Kevin hipwell (talk) 23:48, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Will convert Belgium first, since they have no that many coins. Let's have a look later, will let you know once is done. Miguel.mateo (talk) 00:04, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Kevin, I have changed Belgium 2002 and 2003 with the design we talked. I have checked in IE, FF and Opera, in both high and low resolutions, and the behaviour is the same. It does not convince me 100% but I do not dislike it either. Tell me your opinion. If positive, I will work in changing all articles to this new format. Miguel.mateo (talk) 03:49, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
I think it will work great job, are you adding the extra space between each coins or would you prefer keep it out?Kevin hipwell (talk) 09:24, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
You finally found the collon ':' :) Adding the extra space between the images separates them a bit. Will convert Belgium first, that is fairly short to see how a whole article will look like. Thanks! Miguel.mateo (talk) 03:25, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Joseph Haydn Gold Euro Coin

Hi there, as a favour, can you please visit Talk:Joseph Haydn? I am putting a simple reference there to the Joseph Haydn Gold Euro Coin and it turns to be a huge argument with only one editor. If it is not too much to ask, please contribute. Thanks! Miguel.mateo (talk) 06:37, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for pitching in, the final goal was achieved. Miguel.mateo (talk) 00:17, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Finished Belgium!!!

Hi mate, it took me a while to get this done because I am still referencing and fixing the Austrian article, so I can only give myself a couple of hours a day to get this done. If you do not mind, please take a quick look at it, there could be stuff I missed or oversaw. I will also take a deep look at Finland now, may do some corrections and references. Thanks, Miguel.mateo (talk) 09:01, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey I checked out the Belgium article, the only stuff I think was oversaw was the code change from the 2003 section and the 2004 section such as the "align=center" in the first cell & the "& nbsp;" that separates the images on the 2004 section onwards, These differences don't appear to have any visual change in the article so its not an issue.
I must say that you have done a great job on the Belgium article it must have taken a lot of research the information for Belgium is hard to find (I also think its great that you got "market value" info on each coin)Kevin hipwell (talk) 13:47, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Need help again - another argument

This time in article Schloss Esterházy, the same user (with the help of another user) is constantly reverting my changes and is asking for another discussion. Can you please pitch in? Sorry to bother, Miguel.mateo (talk) 15:36, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

BTW, if possible, please pitch in here WP:ANI as well. Miguel.mateo (talk) 00:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi mate, once again.

This time I write to give you a BIG THANKS for your support and a HUGE APOLOGY for all the trouble created with my contributions in non-numismatics related articles. I was honestly just trying to bring more traffic to the commemorative coins articles (which for me is, obviously, fascinating), but after a lot of thoughts I have realized that there is any sort of Wikipedians out there. Hence I have changed my views.

I will continue putting information here and there of commemorative coins as long as is notable and relevant enough, but I will not fight any more if the content is removed or changed. I might try in the talk page to ask for a consensus, but will not die for it. Instead I will concentrate all my efforts in trying to finish the "Euro gold and silver commemorative coins" series; which is already in a very good shape, thanks to people like you.

BTW, I have proposed Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Belgium) for peer review, hoping that can be promoted to a featured article. The final goal will be to create a Euro Coins Collector's Portal with all the series and information from articles that you have contributed, and (if possible) get it promoted to a featured Portal. If you are interesting in helping in this process, please comment here. I hope it gets promoted, and after this learning process, I am planning to propose immediately Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Ireland) and Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Austria), which are almost completed from my stand point.

Once again thank for your support. Miguel.mateo (talk) 09:11, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't think there is any need to apologize, you did what you believed was best, you discussed the :issue and came to a conclusion, keep up your enthusiasm and don't be afraid to trust your own :opinion, you have been doing a great job!.Kevin hipwell (talk) 21:24, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
You've been a good partner! What do you think about the idea of proposing the series for featured articles? Miguel.mateo (talk) 22:30, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure, I would like to see more sections on the articles giving a bit more information, I would also like all the articles to be finished first, then again the Austrian article is pretty good and if it fits the criteria to become a featured article I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be one.Kevin hipwell (talk) 02:33, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Honestly, I am trying Belgium first because is finished (I do not know what else to add) and the most important thing, to learn about the process, so we can be more efficient for the future promotions. I think Austria and Ireland are almost ready too. We will see, I will keep you always posted, if you do not mind. Miguel.mateo (talk) 04:29, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Malta) nominated for deletion

Kevin,

Can you please pitch in at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Euro gold and silver commemorative coins (Malta), somebody wants to remove the article. My only opinion is that the article belong to the template for collectors, and will be odd not to have Malta represented there.

Thanks, Miguel.mateo (talk) 22:44, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Finland

Hi buddy,

Just wanted to let you know I managed to find a very good source on Finland coins, will focus on Finland details until I run out this source. I also got some comments on the Belgium review, I will try to summarize them and will let you know since it potentially change the way we build the new articles.

Thanks, Miguel.mateo (talk) 22:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Great work keep me informed.Kevin hipwell (talk) 23:18, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Kevin,

I have been thinking of some of your comments in the past about the layout of the main article, as well as some recent comments from Melitikus. Also, yesterday some issues with the copyright of the images, particularly in this main article that have to be addressed. Considering all the facts, I have changed The Belgium Section. Can you please take a look and let me know what you think? Let's comment directly in the talk page of the article, to see if anyone has any other ideas.

Thanks, Miguel.mateo (talk) 04:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Dude, WE ROCK!!! I am so pleased with what this is turning into!!! I will be adding some wordings (if you do not mind) to all the sections that just changed. This is really motivating me, maybe more than collecting the coins themselves! :) Miguel.mateo (talk) 08:29, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Fell free to do so, I'm not much of a writer anyways.Kevin hipwell (talk) 08:33, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
