Moody National Bank
[edit]I feel they are relevant because the Bank controls the insurance company and the foundation which funds Moody Gardens. Not to mention the president of the bank is also the president of the insurance company and chairman of the foundation... as well as founder of Moody Gardens. Nsaum75 07:00, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps they should be mentioned in the article then. Especially if they have articles of their own. Kevin 07:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I am sorry that you do not understat just how significant the article Upright Down is to the little farming community of Edgewood Washington. i hope you can leave my page be, for it is the only hope and ispiration for the 100s of residents of Edgewood. Please help me understand... Why was my link to my free tutorials helping people master ooBase deemed spam? Almost all of the external links I see are links to ways to learn more about a subject... isn't that what my tutorials offer? What content there would, in your view, NOT be welcomed by someone who followed the link? (Link was to http://sheepdogguides.com/fdb/fdb1main.htm, in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org (The OpenOffice articles, by the way, are in such a state of confusion that I couldn't find what I'd just written 5 minutes after writing it!) Apologies if I've added this to your talk page the wrong way. If so, how should I have started a new item, please?Tkbwik 10:48, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Actually your link was not working when I checked, and the other link I removed was the spam. Yours is non-commercial at least, although I don't know if it really adds any information not found at the 3 official sites listed. Your posting here is fine. Kevin 11:12, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Many thanks for the above, and for alerting me to it via the note directly to my "Talk" page.
Re- link not working: For perhaps 30 seconds, there was a non-working version of the link in the wiki... I'd inadvertently added a / to the URL... (that was the edit between 10:01 and 10:02) Murphy's law going strong, as ever. At least I checked my post, and then fixed the mistake!
Re- "doesn't add anything"... probably no new information, but judging from emails I receive, and the Google ranking, people do find the way the information is organized useful. I actually... really... received another email about exactly that in the past 20 minutes.
Bottom line... do you think the link could go back? If so, is this something I do, or you?
Oh! And thank you for explaining that it was the OTHER link that was the spam! I hadn't understood that the entry in the history list covered multiple edits.Tkbwik 11:38, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Put the link back if you like. At the moment I'm only really trying to remove the most commercial links that I find. Or where the link has been placed into lots of articles at once. I'll have to check out your site, I use Open Office as well. Cheers. Kevin 23:04, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
[edit]I noticed that you tagged the page Alternate Air Ticket POS for speedy deletion with the reason "Wikipedia is not a travel guide. I don't see how this list could become a complete article". However, "Wikipedia is not a travel guide. I don't see how this list could become a complete article" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use WP:PROD if you still want the page to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 20:45, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Ebay feedback abuse and citing sources
[edit]Hello Kevin. I am the source, I am an ebay member, and if you somehow doubt that feedback is abused, just ask Ebay if it is. This is not an urban myth, or something made-up. People do in fact withhold feedback, in some cases DO use it for retaliation, and other abuses. If you still doubt that this happens, Maybe I could forward you an email from Ebay itself, claiming that they "discourage using feedback for retaliation", which I think is Bull, but it does acknowledge that it does happen. Here is the updated addition with direct quotes from Ebay itself:
Ebay
[edit]Feedback abuse:
A practice among some sellers is to hold feedback hostage. Even though the buyer paid promptly, the seller refuses to leave feedback. A further abuse of this is that some sellers deliberately withhold feedback so that if a customer is not satisfied with a purchase, no matter how legitimate their reason is, the seller may then use their feedback for malicious retaliation against the buyer, intentionally damaging their feedback score and reputation, and thus, their buying and selling ability, as buyers and sellers both often rely on the feedback score in deciding whether or not to do business with a particular individual. Abacene
"retaliatory Feedback is strongly discouraged on eBay"
"some eBay members choose not to leave feedback"
These are word-for-word quotes directly from Ebay, which acknowledges that the problem does exist.

Law firms
[edit]Kevin, hi
This is Lamro. Yes, I have started several stubs on law firms. My sources of information are my own experience of dealing with them or their official web-sites. I have added links to websites to all the stubs except for defunct firms.
As for Lord, Day & Lord, there are links to two articles in Internet. Plus I used information from a cool book 'Lions in the Street' by Paul Hoffman.

Additions and sources
[edit]Well, it seems that the addition making news everywhere these days is the one about Chris Benoit, and the death of his wife in particular, that was reported in the form of an addition, apparently without a reliable source, from an annonymous author. I cited DIRECT QUOTES from Ebay ITSELF in the last version of my additon, and you censored it.
This is further proof of your hypocricy, and selective censoring. Yes, yes, you will defend this, with seemingly logical reasons, as one thing I have learned is that no matter how wrong someone may be there is always something more they can say anyway.
You Wiki-cult types are hypocrites, plain and simple. Abacene

[edit]As you say, an interesting question. But group is also defined in CSD as "band or club", so it isn't that clear. So AfD is safer when in doubt. No point in arguing about whether speedy is justified when we have Afd-- As I see it, speedy is most useful when it can be done to the obvious things that don't need discussion--and there are so very many of them. Reply to Company articles
[edit]I have briefly reviewed the company notability guidelines and understand what is necessary to make an article on this subject. I will go back and see if I can find any additional sources of information reguarding the recent articles I have created. If I can not find any other information, then I will remove articles that remain short. I have a tendency to want to include everything and anything I can find, reguardless of how small it is. But I understand that it is necessary to manage articles like this on Wikipedia due to the number already available. --Pilotboi 09:11, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

The Importance of Anthony "The Warden" Schiavelli
[edit]Kevin,
This is in defense of my submission on Anthony "The Warden" Schiavelli. My article has been linked, and is very factual. The information that I found is of a great importance. Not because of popularity, but because this man has been known to have startled the police in his day by some of the vicious crimes he committed. Just because he's not known doesn't mean that he doesn't provide a peice of very useful information as to how people such as Bill Bonnan, and Gotti, and Al Capone managed to have their enemies dealt. Do not delete my article unless you can give me a solid reason that it shouldn't stay. And it should stay. Just let the record show. 209.244.188.203 01:30, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- One of the basic policies on Wikipedia is that all information must be verified by reliable sources, and should also be notable enough to have had articles or books written about the subject. The fact that he is not known is exactly why I suggested that the article be deleted. The links in the article are to the main pages of Google and various other search pages, and have no relevant information at all. My search on Google News shows no relevant news articles, so I doubt whether this person is notable enough. If you have some sources I'm happy to reconsider my opinion. It won't be me deleting the article in any case, as I am not an admin. Cheers Kevin 01:54, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

user Block
[edit]After seriously reviewing your contributions to Wikipedia, I'm placing a user block tag on the screen name Kevin1243 because obviously you are making SNEAKY VALDALISM alterations to article under construction without any discussion. From your history, I can see your account was created to delete, vandalize, and make slight, and almost undetectable alterations to articles. This is what vandals do. StationNT5Bmedia 18:57, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- You know that you can't actually block people, don't you? Only admins can do that. I consider the tags placement on my talk page by you to be vandalism, so please don't do it again. Kevin 00:31, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Don't delete this comment
[edit]Reverting back to previous versions of your userpage isn't considered proper from my understanding of the Wikipedia community. If you don't like a comment, there are ways to archive commenets, but do not erase discussion, even if you don't like it. This is not your web site. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It thrives upon contributions. Your contributions are being questioned. What articles are you contributing to? You seem only to be deleting material, not improving it. What do you have to say? StationNT5Bmedia 00:18, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- If you really think that my contributions should be questioned, file a request for comment. Be warned though, that requestors there generally receive as much scrutiny as those they seek comment on. Kevin 00:31, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Zero tolerance means unacceptable
[edit]If you are going to push this, I will too. The review of your contributions to the Wikipedia projects is lacking in understanding. Contributions are not solely for you to wreck. Most of the work in your history seems to undo new topics. What do you have to say about that? StationNT5Bmedia 00:41, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

A discussion is being recessed for now concerning VANDALISM alleged in your user history & reports of conflict of interest of your contributions to Wikipedia. Many users have alleged that you have VANDALIZED topics. Your actions other than trolling, and edits to articles under construction considered to be VANDALISM might need to be discussed in addition to these allegations. Citings of numerous references are available concerning your user screen name, and other conflicts of interest. StationNT5Bmedia 19:00, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Proposed Merge of Game sweatshop with Farmer (gaming)
[edit]There are also some legal issues we need to take care to be wary of with this article.
As 'gold farming' is a violation of many MMOs Terms of Service, to be advocating or been seen to be providing a reference or how-to with 'gold farming' may be subject to legal sanction. It is essential then that we adopt NPOV that also takes into account that we should not the article to advocate the violation copyright and Intellectual Property of these companies.
What is the standard Wikipedia policies on this, when it comes to discussing matters that could later be used to either violate or target I.P. For example, discussion of how-to exploit a game or operating system could be seen as damaging that property.
What are the lines we should draw on this issue?
Witchita au 11:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Because we will not be publishing anything that has not been published elsewhere in a reliable source, I don't see any legal issue. It is those who take part in the activity that need to worry about terms of service etc, not those who report their actions. If there is enough reliably sourced material, then an article on individual game farmers and one on organizations employing such individuals in 'sweatshop' conditions seems appropriate. If, however, there are organisations that employ game farming techniques without evidence of sweatshop conditions, then Game sweatshop will need to be moved to a more neutral title. Kevin 11:19, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks again Kevin.
- I've moved that talk back to the recommend page.

[edit]Those websites might have been edited since i last checked them, I am positive that at least one made some reference to the guitar, although im not certain which section the reference was under. Chelsea Lately Episode Guide
[edit]Why did you mark this episode guide unreferenced? I am a bit confused. This is an ongoing show on the E! Network. People are finding out who was on by actually watching the show every night and posting it on the guide. It's not like it's some made up show. People can also find guests from various shows by using IMDB OR TV.COM. I don't understand your addition of "unreferenced" when the show is a daily talk show on a cable network. (that's where they find out who's on). I don't know what's wrong with it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.90.207.142 (talk) 00:07:00, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
- I tagged the section because there are no sources listed that another user who has not watched the show could verify the information. Adding information based on your own watching of the show is original research, and is not allowed per the policy. I looked at all the references provided and found no episode list we could source back to. Cheers Kevin 00:18, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough, but I've noticed that alot of British shows talk shows and game shows and the like have episode guides that features the guests who were on that particular show without sources like The Friday Night Project and they have not been cited. I guess what I am saying here is that even after reading the link on "Original research", I'm confused as what exactly is allowed in terms of episode guides and what isn't. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.90.207.142 (talk) 00:56:46, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
- Basically, the only information that can be included in Wikipedia is information that has been published elsewhere by a reliable source. Cheers Kevin 01:21, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
All right then. I see where you are going and what it means.. However I still can't see the difference between why this one in particular show got flagged while other talk shows have episode guides on their sites with all their previous guests written down. Karl Stefanovic
[edit]Hey mate, obviously the only way to stop this "vandalism" of Karl Stefanovic's being called a robot is to allow one person to actually state what Tony Martin, Ed Kavalee and Richard say about it on radio. Heck, just make a one sentence line on his page saying this: Karl Stefanovic is called a robot on Triple M's Get This. It will stop people vandalising it so much.
You may want to include that in the main band page. I don't think they are notable...yet. Also, you may want to check the spelling on it. Spryde 11:39, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
