questions about an article

[edit]

Dear Avs5221, the article I had created (Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Eduardo Sarmiento) was deleted due to copyright infringement which I do not see the reason for. All content was verified for copyright and the sources listed. I intend to go with the article and did not save a copy of it, it is not deleted, is there a way I can access it as a draft as to no have to rebuild it from scratch? Would you be so kind as to point out the copyright infringement which led to deletion? Thank you. Ketty Mora (talk) 20:17, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, unfortunately I am unable to see where the problem with copyright was, because once a page is deleted from Wikipedia the page history is only visible to Administrators. If you copy and pasted the text of the article from anywhere on the internet, then that would explain why the page was deleted. Wikipedia grants copyright protection to all works automatically whether it is asserted or not. Content that is copyrighted that gets uploaded to Wikipedia is speedily deleted -- unless the authority to use that material is formally established. See WP:COPYRIGHT and WP:Donating copyrighted materials for more info. The administrator who deleted the page was user Malik Shabazz, if you would like to contact them please do so at: User talk:Malik Shabazz (follow the blue link). thank you! :) i am not web developing savvy and all of these codes are very new for me, but i am improving as i go and i am glad because i am learning something new :)

hi, nice to hear from you. Talk pages are always a bit confusing but i think i can help you out: when you want to leave another user a message, add your text to the bottom of their talk page. This is easy to do if you click the "new section" link at the top of the talkpage. You are also welcome to reply to me on your own page- many editors do this so they can have both sides of the conversation in one spot- but if the other person you are talking to isn't actively watching your talkpage, they may miss it. good luck with editing, and don't be afraid to ask any questions. Your submission at Articles for creation

Eduardo Sarmiento, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

You are more than welcome to continue making quality contributions to Wikipedia. Note that because you are a logged-in user, you can create articles yourself, and don't have to post a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for Creation if you prefer.

Thank you for helping improve Wikipedia!

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fernando García (artist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.cintasfoundation.org/fellows_artists_g.htm and http://www.cubaartny.org/pages/artists/FernandoGarcia/CV.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. • Gene93k (talk) 02:54, 11 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Carlos Estévez (artist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.rdzfineart.com/artists/carlos-estevez/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".
