Proposed deletion of Connor Maloney

The article Connor Maloney has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 04:24, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

The article Connor Maloney has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 04:24, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2017 Columbus Crew SC season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Bradley. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Riverhounds loans

Hi. Is it worth listing Columbus Crew players on loan to Pittsburgh Riverhounds? As with all MLS and USL affiliate sides, the squads and loans are completely fluid through the season. Listing someone out on loan to an affiliate side would need updating on a weekly basis as they are still part of the Crew squad, sometimes with no announcement when they're with the affiliate or not.

Not criticising the decision, but I think seeing the "complete" Crew squad makes more sense and only listing loans outside the affiliate system. It's messy and inaccurate otherwise. UncleTupelo1 17:25, 10 July 2017 (UTC)

Personally, I think that listing those players as on loan helps lessen confusion and eliminate the potential of conflicting information between pages. I feel as though it would be confusing to see a player listed on the Crew SC roster, but then click on his page to see him listed as on loan to Pittsburgh, or to look at the Riverhounds page and see him listed there as well. If there are no players on loan outside the system, and therefore no on loan section, perhaps there is no issue. I simply think that, with a section listing on loan players, it would be more confusing to see players not listed there, although they are on loan, than to see that section change frequently as players move back and forth.
Also, Rodrigo Saravia's loan is also technically on a game-by-game basis, ([1]), just like all of the players on loan to Pittsburgh. Obviously, he won't be moving as freely as those players (he is in Sweden and has no squad number, after all), but if he is listed as on-loan, I think the other players who have the same loan terms should be listed as well.
Perhaps something could be done similar to what we just moved to at the USL affiliates, where players on loan from a parent club have a small indicator next to their name, with a key on the bottom to inform that they are on loan from an MLS parent club. That would keep the players on loan to USL clubs inside the team roster, but also note that they are on loan. It would also be an easier and quicker edit to make to reflect on the current status of a player.

That'd work for me. The USL squads already have that for incoming players from affiliates, so makes sense to do the same for outgoing players. UncleTupelo1 14:04, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi, 21.colinthompson-- I don't follow football, and am not a subject expert on Mr. Nagbe, but his article is on my watch list. I see that you have recently made edits to his article. Because of the amount of stealth vandalism we see, I am asking editors to please cite a source when changing facts in articles, to allow other editors to verify the good intent of your edits.

If you have never done a citation, it's pretty simple.§ You just need a reliable source, which probably won't be TV or radio, and then, in the edit box, you click on the triangular arrow in the Templates scroll box, which gives you your options to cite: web, news, book, journal. Click the one you want, and a form pops up. For sports scores, you can get by with entering the URL (web address) of the source, and the access date. Title is good if there is one, and date of the article if it is there. Author is nice, but for scores and stats, not essential. Preview with the preview button, and if it is error-free, press the Insert button and you're done.

§ Shortcut: For the sort of edit you just did (changing a bunch of numbers), you could even get by with simply putting the URL of your reliable source in your edit summary. Just so nobody mistakes your edit for vandalism. Thanks.--Quisqualis (talk) 06:09, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Cursory examination says they look fine; then again, without MLS knowledge the edits to Higuaín look perfectly fine as well. I'll take a closer look at them all, though, to make sure that they check out. Thanks for the heads-up. 21.colinthompson (talk) 07:19, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

2019 OKC Energy FC

Are you going to be making the 2019 OKC Energy FC page for the upcoming season. The Schedule was just released the other day.

I'd have no issue creating and formatting the page, but right now I don't plan on updating it throughout the season. I could certainly get everything started though. 21.colinthompson (talk) 00:17, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
You can create the page and i can update throughout the season. Tydude (talk)
@Tydude: created at 2019 OKC Energy FC season. The club didn't list kickoff times for road matches, but otherwise everything is up to date. Good luck to the Energy this season! 21.colinthompson (talk) 23:45, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
