John C. Dvorak
[edit]Falcorian, thanks for the editing on the John C. Dvorak page. You've beaten me to the punch the last few times that Refridgerator/Tippx has made his edits about Dvoraks's lawn. I'm not a very experienced editor and so it's good to see someone else pick up my slack. I didn't know who to talk to or how far to take it. I want the article to remain relevant, but didn't want to feed the trolls.
If there is anything else I can do to help out, just let me know here or on my talk page. Kermit814 (talk) 02:45, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Just keep reverting, and if you would leave hand written (not template) messages on his talk page asking him to discuss his edits on the article talk page. If he keeps it up (which I suspect he will...) I'll take it up another level, and it will go easier if it's obvious that he's the one violating policy and refusing to discuss it. So, just keep at it, he'll get bored (or banned) eventually. ;-) Best of luck. --Falcorian (talk) 04:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Kermit, you can always ask me if you want help with how the policies and guidelines are normally interpreted with respect to a specific edit. I do know the Fox Cities pretty well. Royalbroil 18:36, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks Royal, I think in the Dvorak case the guy/gal eventually just got sick of trying. I've got most of the community and county pages watched for the Fox Valley and I mostly just watch for vandals. If a question came up, you would be one of my first go-to people for advise. I want to make it a goal this fall to get some photos up once the leaves are down. I'll come to you for advise then too.Kermit814 (talk) 20:48, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Greenville, Wisconsin unincorporated community
[edit]The article about Greenville (community), Wisconsin that you removed is about the unincorporated community that is in the town of the same name. Thanks-RFD (talk) 16:19, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I was going to write something up on the talk page about that but then got caught up at work with actual work. The problem with putting in every "community" in Wisconsin is that there are so many of them. Freedom has a downtown village-style area that is arguably a community apart from its town and there are probably a dozen more similar examples in NE Wisconsin alone. Besides that, there is nothing that delineates the Greenville community from the rest of the Town of Greenville. It's not a legal entity. The definition of what constitutes a "community" in this area can be as little as a collection of 2 bars and a church, and if that's the case I could start a page calling downtown Kaukauna "Kaukaunaville" and there would be no web based references to prove it out. If you want it back in, I won't mess with it. But we need to draw a line somewhere and I don't think it deserves to be listed, much less have its own page. Kermit814 (talk) 18:29, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- Many thanks-unincorporated communities are supposed to be notable. It is my understanding Wikipedia also serves as some sort of gazetteer. RFD (talk) 18:35, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
