Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. [edit] This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia. Willking1979 (talk) 23:54, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm a brand new user and I had no intention to "spam". I am not attempting to sell any products or to promote my website just for the sake of building readership. Often on my website I quote relevant information from Wikipedia as I consider it a great source, and then I provide links back to the Wikipedia article. I thought it would be helpful to readers of Wikipedia if they had a link back to the site where the Wikipedia article appeared, plus other related information. One key purpose of my website is the exercise of Freedom of Speech, and that is why I am attempting get the word out on this issue. If you will kindly check out my homepage at http://www.kycbs.net and http://www.kycbs.net/Freedom-To-Sing.htm you should get a better idea of my reasons for trying to share this information with as wide an audience as possible.
Now that I have a little experience with Wikipedia, and have re-read the spam guidelines, I believe I may be better able to avoid the appearance of spam in the future.
I would be grateful for your feedback to this message and for any help and advice you may wish to provide.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Censorship in the United States has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bexample\.com (links: http://www.example.com).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 02:51, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Spam Edits
[edit]Hey, I saw your edit here and wanted to try and help you out. First I want to let you know that here on wikipedia, any user with the word bot in it is a automated user, so unless it's the bot's owner, they won't respond to you. Second, it's very important that you click on these links and read them and understand them thoroughly if you want to contribute positively to wikipedia: WP:SPAM and WP:External Links. These pages will help explain our policy of adding links to articles. Finally, please don't add your signature to the article page. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me. - I need to add somethng that I forgot. I see that you have an affliation with a website. Please be aware that you can't promote websites here and it's considered a blockable offense if you keep adding the site. I just wanted you to be aware of that because if you continue you may be blocked. Regards, Icestorm815 • Talk 05:22, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your information. Now I have a much better understanding, and will try sometime in the future to contribute articles without linking to an affiliated website.
