Orphaned fair use image (Image:Cd Koop Sons of Koop.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cd Koop Sons of Koop.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Let me repeat this, as you, User:Sissyneck, and (the probably non-existent) User:Ha69ard do not seem to have understood yet: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog, social networking site, or substitute for MySpace or Facebook. If you're here to contribute to the building of an encyclopedia, fine; if your primary purpose is fooling around with your and each others' user pages and leaving each other messages, no: user pages are a way for active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. Please remember this.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mondaysyesplease.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mondaysyesplease.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 22:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arifsusam.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Fair use rationale for Image:Docmanhattan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Docmanhattan.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:00, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish Cup

[edit]

Greetings,

I can understand about Istanbul BB to distinguish it from another club. So, thank you for explaining that to me. But I feel that that does not apply to Beşiktaş. Just because it is also the name of a town, does not mean you have to keep the "J.K." all the time. We (football editors) don't put always have to put Liverpool F.C., A.C. Milan, or FC Barcelona, for example, when it is specifically clear it is about the club. You can pipe it so it says Liverpool, Milan, or Barcelona. It's actually preferred policy for the wikiproject on football. I also did not take too well to a complete reversion of my edits when the acronyms are your main (only?) concern. The flags did not have to be there, but you reverted my removal of those. Next time, be careful reverting an entire edit when you only have a problem with part of it. Unless it is an international competitions, the flags do not have to be there. Thanks. Digirami (talk) 21:18, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problemo. Glad it was resolved rather quickly, too. Cheers! Digirami (talk) 21:48, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect skid mark illustration

[edit]
Wrong.

Hi,

I removed your "skid mark" image from the Tire article. Tread marks don't show up on actual skid marks because the tires are not rotating when a car skids. If you do not believe me, please take a look at images.google.com searching for "skid mark tire" for lots of evidence. This shows a danger of having editors create their own illustrations for articles. If you don't mind, I'm going to nominate this image for deletion, as it is now an orphan and does not illustrate anything in the real world. Comet Tuttle (talk) 18:10, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually this is the 2n one. Awarded between 1999-2004 http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/6708/k017r.jpg Would be nice to have them in the article. Like FA Cup. Same for Süper Lig 1886kusagi (talk) 14:50, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, you've found an old post of me at wowTurkey.com :) The main problems is the 2nd trophy. The first and curent one can be found at the museums of BJK, FB or GS. But i am not sure about the 2nd one. Only Galatasaray (1999 and 2000) has won it. 2001 Genclerbilrigi, 2002 Kocaeli and TS in 2003 and 2004. As far as i know TS has got a new museum. We need "free" pics from flickt etc. 1886kusagi (talk) 15:43, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I noticed you reverted my edit on the above template without giving a good reason. I put the dots on there to make it look like an abbreviated word, instead of it looking like a completely different word (don't know whether I've explained myself well enough but I'm sure you get what I'm saying). You will also find that on most articles with scores after extra time the "a.e.t." always has dots/periods to show that it's an abbreviation of "after extra time".
