Cash mob

[edit]

Hello Kelllehbee! I saw your edit request over at the dispute resolution noticeboard, and I thought I'd come here and leave you a note about it. All that I saw on Talk:Cash mob was one post by you, and it doesn't seem like there was any actual discussion. Actually, prior discussion is necessary before the noticeboard will take a dispute. Did you have any other discussion somewhere different than Talk:Cash mob? If you did, just let me know where it was, and I can help you to file the dispute request. If you didn't, then the best thing to do is probably to leave a note on Silver seren's talk page and ask her to leave a comment. Let me know if you have any questions about this. Best regards — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 13:57, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mr. Stradivarius! I did leave a note on Silver Seren's talk page previously, there has been one email, and there have been discussion or, rather, comments made each time an edit I made were taken down [1]. The comments are on the Cash Mob edit page I believe and my comment should be on Silver Seren's Talk page [2].Should I try adding my Cash Mob inclusion again? Thank you so much! - Kelllehbee (talk) 17:50, 30 October 2012 (UTC) Kelllehbee Kelllehbee (talk) 17:50, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I need help getting my Cash Mob dispute resolution request listed. I'm not sure if user, Mr. Stradivarius, got a notification that I responded to his response the other day, so I thought I'd add the "help me" icon. :) Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kelllehbee (talkcontribs) 15:06, 2012 November 1
Howdy! I noticed this helpme post and I'll notify Mr. Stradivarius about it right now. Thanks, Nathan2055talk - contribs 16:31, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect! Thank you so much, Nathan2055! Kelllehbee (talk) 17:13, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again Kelllehbee, and sorry for the delay in replying. Looking at this a bit closer, I think that this all hinges on the interpretation of our policy Wikipedia:No original research. This policy says that the sources that we cite need to directly back up the claims that we make in articles. I quote: "Articles may not contain any new analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to advance a position not clearly advanced by the sources themselves." In the case of cash mobs, that means that we must have a reliable source saying that an event is a cash mob before we can include it. If the source only describes an event that sounds like a cash mob, that's not really enough. What we really need is a source that describes this event as being part of the cash mob phenomenon. Please note that even then it might not be able to get in the article if it would introduce a problem of undue weight, however. Does this reply make sense? Let me know if you would like any clarification. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 09:11, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
