Commander Keane
Dear sir.
I wrote a contribution for Wikipedia and uploaded the necessary pictures, all made from antique objects in my collection, and gave a free license for everything.
The contribution has the name Geuzen medals. Now there is a tag on my contribution Clean up, I do not understand what I have to do. Maybe the fact that I am Dutch could be the reason for not understanding the system.
Please {{helpme}}
.
Yours sincerely, Kees 38
- Hi Kees. The article just needs to follow the usual style of Wikipedia articles. Some ideas:
- All of the images should have captions
- You should use section headings, for example instead of "The “eternal edict” of 1577", you could make that a section heading by using: "==The "eternal edict" of 1577=="
- You might like to make more links, to interesting subjects
- If you want help with any of this please ask me on my talk page.--Commander Keane 15:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Image tagging for Image:800px-1590 Breda.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:800px-1590 Breda.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use rationale for Image:Hoorne penning.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Hoorne penning.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

NowCommons: File:3a Geuzenpenning, halve maan.JPG
[edit]File:3a Geuzenpenning, halve maan.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:3 Geuzenpenning, halve maan.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:3 Geuzenpenning, halve maan.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 20:28, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi, it's not clear what these are images of, and they are unused in any articles on the English Wikipedia; they are good images and should be moved to Commons as long as we know what they are. Can you provide a description? Thanks. Rodhullandemu 00:50, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:4a Zilveren penning, 1572, op de verlossing van de 10e penning.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 11:08, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- Another one of your uploads, File:5a 1577, Eeuwig edict, zilver gegoten.jpg, has also had some information automatically added. If you get a moment, please review the bot's contributions there as well. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 11:17, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:6 Geuzenpenning 19e,20e.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:6 Geuzenpenning 19e,20e.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:09, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Kees38. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Kees38~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
