Davis Cup/Tennis Match templates
[edit]Hi, I think there's something wrong with either Template:DavisCupbox or Template:TennisMatch. The player's names don't show up. I poked around in them, but I couldn't see anything obvious (but then again, I didn't understand it really well). It would be a great tool if you can get it working again. Thanks! Chris 08:37, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! You speak Wiki very well, so that's all that matters ;) Chris 23:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
I haven't been creating many new pages lately, but I'm using it where I can. One problem I've run into is that if you can't use a different link for a name (like Charles Dixon (tennis player) instead of just Charles Dixon). I found a work-around for team names (ie. USSR links to the Russian team page), but not for players. Another thing I noticed when doing 1920 International Lawn Tennis Challenge is that if there's a 6-0 set, it doesn't display.
If you want to create some pages, just pick a year and go for it. I've got a few bracket templates at Category:WikiProject Tennis Templates and have added more team templates (Category:Davis Cup team templates). I'll be glad to have some help. Chris 02:41, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for making those changes. I think the box will work for everything now. Chris 02:02, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, it should work for walkovers, not played, and when there's no results. It works for most cases of retirements and not completed, except if it goes into a fifth set. There's no place to put anything extra (beyond the 5 sets), so I don't know how that should be handled. I also noticed that if a match ends with a tied set (it happened in 1900), team 2's score is in bold. It will probably work for 98% of the ties we run into. I can't think of another situation we would find. Chris 04:21, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Davis Cup names
[edit]Without the dash looks better to me. Chris 07:55, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I think having the draw on the main page presents the information a little better. It's easier to follow someone's path through the tournament with it. It doesn't remove any info, and it also takes up a little less space. Spyder_Monkey (Talk) 02:00, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:2007 IIHF World Championship.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:2007 IIHF World Championship.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Having your own page deleted
[edit]If you create a page, and before anyone else edits it you decide to have it deleted, like what seems to have happened with Category:IIHF Championships 2007, please put a {{db-self}} at the top of the page, in stead of blanking it. This will attract an administrator to it to have it deleted. I've marked this one for you - since you blanked it, that's enough. Od Mishehu 04:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Your changes to Template:8TeamBracket-Tennis3
[edit]Could you please explain your changes? There was nothing on the talk page, nor even an edit summary. I have recerted these changes, as they break several pages that depend on the pre-existing behaviour. Andrwsc 16:39, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- It seems as though you want to show empty seed boxes for empty brackets. That is easily accomplished with the existing template by setting the seed to a space. For example, if you don't want seeds at all, specify nothing (like
RD1-seed01=
). If you want an empty box, specify a space (likeRD1-seed01=
. This template supports both kinds of brackets (seeded and unseeded) — you just tell it what you want. Hope this helps, Andrwsc 17:13, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Added size to Template:fb-big
[edit]When I went through all the articles where {{fb-big}} could be used, I didn't see any single instance where anything other than ~30 pixels was specified. Therefore, I thought it better for consistency to take that parameter out, so that divergent page formats would develop. Do you have a particular reason for adding it back? Thanks, Andrwsc 09:53, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I just saw your Template:winners, and I presume that's what you intended for the size parameter for fb-big. I think that's a really good idea, so please be WP:BOLD and go ahead with installing and using that on football tournament pages if you wish! Andrwsc 11:32, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

List of CSI: Miami international broadcasters
[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article List of CSI: Miami international broadcasters, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Image source problem with Image:Image:2007 IIHF World Championship.png
[edit]This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Image:2007 IIHF World Championship.png. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:55, 6 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. TfD nomination of Template:Fb-winners
[edit]Thanks very much for creating Template:Fb-winners (originally named Template:Winners) — it was a very good idea! However, it has now been superseded by a parameterised version, Template:Winners, which can be used for several different sports, so I have now nominated it for deletion. 2007 Tennis Masters Cup
[edit]Please stop reverting 2007 Tennis Masters Cup. You haven't provided a sound counter-argument. ☆ CieloEstrellado 12:10, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- Please elaborate on your argument. If you read the rules carefully and then follow my example, when three players are tied 2-1 in W-L matches, the next tie-breaker is highest percentage of sets won, then the next tie-breaker is highest percentage of games won, and then, finally, head-to-head results if two players are tied in percentage of games won. ☆ CieloEstrellado 12:56, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Can you make the spanish version of Template:ClubWCRound7 just like you fixed this one?
You can see it in the "other languages" section of it, or just enter here: Plantilla:Copa de 7 and go to "Editar".
The only difference I would like between the english version, is that the play-off (called Eliminación in spanish) bracket should be linked with the inferior quarterfinals (called Cuartos de Final) bracket (in the way it is now) and not with the one from the top like it is in the english version (or I would just do Copy & Paste, but I don't think that is exactly the way it is).
Well, thank you a lot from now!--'Ville.09 (talk) 04:46, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Were you the one who fixed it? Well, it's ok, but the way I say before. Eliminación shouldn't be in the top in the template. I mean if you can make it like this--'Ville.09 (talk) 13:09, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

No content in Category:2008 U.S. Open (tennis)
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:2008 U.S. Open (tennis), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:2008 U.S. Open (tennis) has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:2008 U.S. Open (tennis), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Speedy deletion of File:Jiří Novák.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Jiří Novák.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help with template:curlingbox
[edit]Hi there.
Since you're the creator of the curlingbox template, I thought I might ask you for help. I'd like to add a parameter to it (if it's ok with you), an optional "viewlink", which would enable an editor to edit a template using curlingbox directly from an article. You'll find the templates in the 2010 Winter Olympics curling sheet templates category and can see examples of their use in Curling at the 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's tournament. The whole idea is to change many edits of fairly large articles to fewer edits of much smaller articles - the templates that use curlingbox - thus reducing both the editing effort and the storage space comsumption. In addition, the info be the same in all places using the templates.
What I'm trying to do, and so far have failed miserably with, is to make "my" templates pass a parameter, e.g. {{v|template-name}}, to the curlingbox template, so that it can display a link to the template-name template, while still keeping the existing heading alternatives in curlingbox ("Team"/"Sheet X") as they are.
I can't make the "Team" alternative work properly. Could you help out?
Regards

Two templates: HopmanCupbox and TennisMatch3
[edit]I noticed you created or helped create these items and I have a question on how they work because we are running into a problem. Using 2010 Hopman Cup as an example and looking at round one Australia vs. Romania you'll notice there is a tiebreak score where Victor Hănescu got 2 points. Instead of the usual coding of 62=62 there is something wierd with just a 6.02. I thought that was cool but when i changed the .02 to .03 it didn't go to 63 it went to 64. If there is an error how do I fix the coding? The other big question is that wikipedia and tennis have decided the BOTH tiebreak scores must be present. Yet if I go to the numeral 7 to add either a .07 or sup7 it again doesn't work. We'd hate to scrap the charts just because they no longer are approved but I have no idea how to tinker with them to make them work as is. Can you help? Thanks. [edit]I appreciate the edit you were trying to make at 2016–17 Manchester United F.C. season, but the custom with regard to clubs' league position is to state the position they were in at the end of the day when they played. Template:DavisCupbox
[edit]Hi Kedarus, Thank you for your work creating this template. I was wondering if you knew a way to make a collapsible option? I am wanting to create some lists of results for country pages and the header for this template looks really amazing and would be perfect for this. Obviously having all the rubbers of ties displayed would make the list too cumbersome but a collapsible option means that they could be viewed if desired. I hope that makes sense.
