Hey! Leaving a note back. Tingflorance (talk) 00:32, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Hi! I edited your article on Hilary Tham, and I thought it was very well done. The only changes I'd suggest is to maybe cut down on some of the information in the introductory paragraph of the article. I feel like you could stop at "Malaysian-born American poet" and that would be fine, since most of the other information is found throughout the article. Have a good day! - Hi Aasthak! You've been doing a great job making edits and comments regarding course articles. Keep up the great work!
- Regarding the lead or intro in the Hilary Tham article, it's actually a wonderful summary of the article. I did remove the info about her death, though, so it focuses on her career. My comments to students with just a short tag about nationality and profession has been to provide a short summary the subject's career in the introduction.
- It may seem silly to summarize a short article, but it is a helpful tool. It helps when users hover over the article name in links (if that's set in their preferences) to know a bit about the subject of the article. It provides a summary in lists of search results. Also, the reader just has to read a short bit to determine if they want to read further. As the article grows, there may not be much more that needs to be added to the summary (i.e. so ratio will change of intro/body content). Sorry that's long-winded, hopefully it makes sense.--CaroleHenson (talk) 21:10, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
