Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see WP:NOELBODY. Thank you. Annh07 (talk) 11:14, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Felida97. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Busby's Bore. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Felida97 (talk) 11:44, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Felida97. I wanted to provide some context for the edits I made. Engineering Heritage Australia recently launched a new website compiling information on national heritage sites. I am assisting with modifying all heritage markers’ Wikipedia pages to properly reference the heritage recognition program. The internal wikilink used for the recognition program is a duplication of the EA wikilink, which we believe can be improved. The intent of adding an external link to the new EHA website is to provide readers with the most up-to-date information on heritage markers.
I will be discussing this matter with the EHA committee to ensure we refer to the heritage recognition program on the new website while adhering to Wikipedia’s external links policy. Kazemi.F (talk) 13:45, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for the context! I responded to your message on my talk page just now, but I wanted to ask for clarification here as well. Stemming from Wikipedia's guidance/stance on open wikis (avoiding them as external links and considering them "largely not acceptable as sources"), could you elaborate on the openness of the Engineering Heritage Australia wiki and who its editors are? More or less unrelated to the previous question and more concerning potential conflicts of interest in general for you specifically, could you perhaps clarify your relationship to Engineering Heritage Australia? (It's probably a good idea to read conflict of interest guide, if there's any chance of a COI.) Felida97 (talk) 17:55, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Felida97 Hi, EHA site is managed by a group of volunteers, overseen by the EHA committee. I am contributing as a volunteer to assist with improving the database. Kazemi.F (talk) 13:11, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to use disruptive, inappropriate or hard-to-read formatting, as you did at Carnarvon Tracking Station, you may be blocked from editing. There is a Wikipedia Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Stop adding external links in the article body (see WP:ELBODY)! Thanks for explaining. I don't want to get too involved here, but I've edited Busby's Bore to show how it might be done: you could follow that format on the other pages. I blocked you temporarily because you were not taking notice of the messages posted here, but I think you can be trusted to continue wisely so I'll unblock you.  —Smalljim  14:51, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
