Almond, Almond syrup
[edit]Hi Kaze - just a note to mention that unfortunately, redirect links to article sections (like you made #REDIRECT [[Almond#Almond syrup]]) don't work as one might want, so they should just be in the format #REDIRECT [[Almond]]. Also, Almond is a European species, so following the Manual of Style on area relevance, the page uses British English, not American English (i.e., odour, not odor, etc.) - thanks, MPF 10:05, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- You're right the redirect doesn't work as I hoped, although if you actually go to the Almond syrup redirect as I had it, and manually click on Almond#Almond syrup you'll see that it goes to the correct section in the almond article. I think this is something that should be changed in how the #REDIRECT works...to permit direction into specific sections. Regarding your second comment, the article says the tree is a native of southwest Asia...although there certainly are a fair number of European countries that are major producers, and they've had a longer history of almonds than the US. Were you refering to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English? I won't contest the use of British English on this page. Thanks for pointing it out. --Kaze0010 01:04, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
