Notability of Papa Vader
[edit]A tag has been placed on Papa Vader, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WebHamster 23:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]Yes, I can adopt you. You might want to add this userbox to your userpage:
By the way, don't forget to sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. If you want to customise your signature, you can do this in Special:Preferences. WaltonOne 15:05, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Saint Lucia
[edit]I reviewed the incident in question, and it looks like User:Chensiyuan was rather uncivil to you. However, it isn't a good idea to keep removing the picture; you might end up violating the three-revert rule, which states that you can't revert someone's edits more than three times in 24 hours. I recommend that you discuss it on the talk page (Talk:Saint Lucia) and invite comments from other editors, so that a consensus can be reached. WaltonOne 13:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- See The Bahamas -- there's a picture of a resort too. Tourism is a component of either country's economy. Having a picture reflecting that is being objective. You are entitled to disagree with me but manderiko and I stand by our views. Wikipedia works on consensus so you are free to invite people who share your views to chip in. However, while we all wish to operate on a clean slate please do not level accusations like "family photo" and "shell" anymore. Chensiyuan 05:48, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- So Bahamas may need cleaned up too.. or maybe that's really what the Bahamas are like. I don't know. I do know about St. Lucia and the picture is not depicting an accurate view. As for my accusations... you've already shown the true Chensiyuan: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Chensiyuan&oldid=151505606#St._Lucia_Picture
Hey, we don't normally remove dead links per WP:DEADREF. The reason is that if you leave the link, it's far more likely that someone will fix or replace it later. Thanks, --Doug.(talk • contribs) 15:40, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
