James Strang article
[edit]Hi! Thanks so much for your recent edit to the James Strang article! I didn't notice anything about the case or its final outcome in the article itself; do you know if Mr. Archer got his wagon back? Just curious. Thanks again for this nice addition. - Ecjmartin (talk) 02:06, 31 May 2017 (UTC)
Conflict of interest relating to Harold B. Lee Library
[edit]Hello, Katelyn Sun (BYU). We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. 32.218.34.198 (talk) 20:35, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
- Additionally, spamming multiple articles with subscription-required links to the library violates WP:ELREG. Please stop. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:12, 1 June 2017 (UTC)
June 2017
[edit]Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Oak City, Utah. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Copyright problem on User:Katelyn Sun (BYU)/sandbox3
[edit]Material you included in the above draft which you copied from our article Harold B. Lee Library as that article has extensive copyright violations, as much of the material there was copied from https://sites.lib.byu.edu/internal/naslo/docs/selfAssessment.pdf, a copyright web page. The article Harold B. Lee Library is being listed today at Wikipedia:Copyright problems and will be cleaned or deleted within the next few weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:26, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
DYK for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand
[edit]On 26 June 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Mormon missionaries were temporarily banned from New Zealand for supposedly trying to convince Maoris to move to America? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
