Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, KatnissEverbean. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Harding Academy (Nashville), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:32, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Harding Academy (Nashville). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Cordless Larry (talk) 16:02, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Please stop. Wikipedia is not censored. Any further changes which have the effect of censoring an article, such as you did to Harding Academy, will be regarded as vandalism. If you continue in this manner, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Billhpike (talk) 16:02, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
Your recent edits could give Wikipedia contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that making such threats on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content, not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. Thank you. Billhpike (talk) 16:04, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Welcome
[edit]Hi Katniss and welcome to Wikipedia. I know it can be quite confusing and intimidating coming into a community full of policies, guidelines, essays, and experienced editors who have lawyerly arguments about how everything is to be conducted. Thanks for taking a positive approach. There are many who will take time to help any one who makes a good-faith, civil effort to improve the encyclopedia! If you have any reliable sources that support your position that Harding Academy Nashville was not a Segregation academy, please post it on the talkpage of the article, here, or at my talk page and we'll find a way to get it included in the article. Or for that matter, reliable sources about other pertinent matters. It would probably be helpful if you did some research into segregation academies. Not all of them were overtly racist, many were established to avoid conflict and turmoil caused by integration. However, they perpetuated segregation as they took only white students out of the public school systems. One thing is irrefutable: the more you research, the greater your knowledge will be. I'm confident you will be glad you did, whatever you learn. Thanks again! Jacona (talk) 17:14, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
- Altho solving your issues was not why it was done, I think my recent edit to the Harding page did just that. Lower schools do not generally even have Wikipedia pages. John from Idegon (talk) 01:57, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
